I have been really busy for the last 2-3 weeks with Sikh New year and my little ones first bday party celebrations so I have not been doing much photography lately.

Also I have been reading a lot about monochrome photography lately of David Fokos, Keith Aggett and Darren Moore lately and this inspire me to great extent to try it myself. These guys are top guns in this field I must say.

So I was thinking where do I go first to catch something minimilistic which has some character which would work in monochrome space. I thought of Gorokan Jetty and Focus crew has already been there couple of months ago. I catch up with Nitin Tandon and travelled 1.5 hours to this place. I must say the sunrise was crazy to start with. I think Nitin has captured some beautiful shots. Because of brief sunrise, sun gets behind the clouds quickly and I have time for long exposures.

This is 90 sec exposure with big stopper and blend with quick one for a bird. There were lots of them on that Jetty and I asked Nitin to throw some rocks to make them flew away. lol. Thanks for that mate. Really appreciate it.

I hope you like this image. I have processed it 4 times believe it or not. I have to convey some emotions through this image. Let me know if I am successful.

I knew on this morning I would be heading back from work and should pass Weston-Super-Mare fairly early in the morning so I had planned this little trip in my head for over a week. I have been inspired by other members of flickr who have taken long exposure type images of this scene.

Finding all the information I needed from the internet (such a laborious task that reclining sofa is really starting to itch), such as tide times and height, weather and sunrise times, but as quite often when you get there things are a little different to how you foresee them. The Great British weather let me down, it was supposed to be partly cloudy and misty but low and behold it was a clear cloudless morning "boo". Fortunately however there was a brief moment when some sea mist drifted by and along with a little help from photoshop this was just enough to create the image I was after.

The Winner of Week 14 (Theme: MINIMILISTIC PHOTOGRAPHY) of 52 Weeks of themed photography - thanks so much everyone! I want to give thanks to the group for encouraging me and to all my supporters and mentors, my dad for putting a camera in my hand and my husband for keeping cameras in my hand and ummm not cutting the grass before I took this shot LOL

"Analytically speaking, the power of these objects is not in their ability to evoke an aesthetic response. It lies in their tendency to facilitate a dynamic perceptual relationship between the audience, the object and the space in which they both reside. It is a philosophical approach to art designed to make the viewer aware of his/her relationship to the space they inhabit and the things within it." sites.google.com/site/minimalismgroup/define/proper

Waenhuiskrans/Arniston, South Africa - Seagull gliding under thick morning cloud cover. One of my favorite photos touring throughout the Western Cape Province. The beach was void of any tourists or locals that morning and standing there I could not help wish...to soar in the sky over the ocean and beach as freely and with so little effort as the multitude of birds could even if it is cliché which so many say far too often and too many times.

Standing alone to admire nature is very uplifting experience.

*a Color rendition of a sepia photo I haven't uploaded yet - Personally I prefer this version over it (amongst three other edits besides the sepia).

I will group all the different versions of the same photo into one landscape photo in future and ask for feedback on which looks the best :)

*Also, I hope the larger bordering does not bother too much, no other easy way of showing on Flickr how this would look (or should) when hanged (matted and framed) on a wall other than doing it this way...

She is so lovely! Like her playset companions before her, she isn't quite as detailed as the other girls in the corresponding line. She has no earrings, ring, no jewelry of any kind, her dress is very minimilistic compared to the other WTW girls. The giant collar thing comes off very easily (I don't mean it falls off, but it's not clasped at the back, it's not fiddly to remove like some belts can be, this is not done up like a belt).

Her hair is mostly purple with a green streak and some black, not that you see much of it with the collar. Guess you could bring it over the collar if you wanted to. The cards on the collar are J, Q, K and A of Hearts.

Her shoes are all black, the detail which stands out is the feather which curls around her leg on each side.

She has light blue eyeshadow circling her eyes and a wee bit of darker blue above her eyes as well. I don't know why it is blue, it doesn't look out of place but I would have thought green more suitable to match her outfit.

I like her more than I thought I would have, though I'm not a fan of hair completely pulled back into a ponytail so I'll probably undo it and take out some strands each side of her face.
