A wonderful hour on Zoom with Ben Norris and Mike Rohde. It was a very structured and well thought out workshop.

Daily Create Poetry Hats Off to a new journey
Hats off for wiggly jiggly artistic lines
Imperfections in ink but that’s just fine
A line of two written in rhyme
Or maybe not- a choice each time
So hats off for growing old
Stilling life and staying bold.
Go boldly and scatter seeds of kindness.

The 6 March 2025 marked the official launch of the "Burnout Support Network: Refuelling You!" at the European Commission. The concept for this burnout network emerged during a meeting of the Compassion Network some of us were attending. When I say "us" I refer to colleagues, including me. We come from various EU departments and have personally experienced burnout. Voluntarily, we have come together to offer support to other colleagues. In addition to the volunteers, the network includes members from the psychosocial sector, medical services, and coaching specialists. The network aims to assist all colleagues, whether they are simply curious, currently experiencing burnout, have previously experienced it, or are in recovery. Our goal is to use our collective experiences to raise awareness, support our colleagues, and prevent burnout. Before the event, we asked prospective attendees which topics they wished to discuss. They identified three main areas: Prevention, Recovery and Return to Work, and Symptoms. These subjects shaped the group discussions, which took place in a setting designed to be confidential and safe for everyone. What I took away from this event, without breaching the confidentiality of the stories and comments shared, are the different needs expressed. Firstly, there is a need to share personal experiences and stories, whether through tears, anger, despair, disillusionment, or through calm, hope, learning, smiles, transformation, and what feels like wisdom. Secondly, there is a need to be listened to and heard. Alongside these needs is the expectation of a different future.
My sketchnotes live of the event.
