Here psychological pressure is going to be applied in an attempt to deliberately induce stammering as part of a residential experimental psychology study the poor thing has been fooled into volunteering for by her scheming stepmother or guardian.

In the background can be seen a spiral device used for hypnotherapy by the psychologist in charge.

From the back cover:

When the millionaire Warren Horace Donovan crashed in his private plane near a remote ranger station in Arizona, Patrick Cory got the chance of his career. For Donovan couldn’t have pulled through, so Cory felt no compunctions about stealing his brain for his strange researches into life after death. But in his scientific fervor he didn’t reckon with the power which Donovan had exerted in his lifetime and which, deprived of his body, became immeasurably greater through Cory’s experiment. And so presently that power paralyzed Cory’s will and he found their positions reversed and himself the agent of Donovan’s unfulfilled plans and ambitions.

To what terrifying lengths that circumstance forced Cory makes a story as spine-chilling as it is fascinating – and one which can’t be put down. Aside from its unusual situation, its unfolding and development are a feat of logic and suspense, testifying to the author’s equal mastery of drama and human behavior.

This special edition of DONOVAN’S BRAIN by Curt Siodmak has been made available to the Armed Forces of the United States through an arrangement with the original publisher, Alfred A. Knopf, Inc., New York. [First published in 1942]

Editions for the Armed Services, Inc., a non-profit organization established by the Council on Books in Wartime.

A motion picture based on the book came out in 1953. In the film version, Dr. Patrick Cory, the doctor who keeps the brain alive and is soon possessed by it, is played by actor Lew Ayres. His wife Janice Cory is played by Nancy Davis, the future First Lady Nancy Reagan. Here she is together with Lew Ayres in the movie trailer:

This uber-rare Daewoo Video release of two "Max Headroom" episodes, including the premiere (?) "Blipverts" promises "special action" and a "shocking future." The ahead-of-its-time dystopian series ran from 1987 to 1988. Front cover announces the episodes had an "urgent" theatrical release in Korea.

Covid 19, the genesis of total governmental control over all our lives and everything we do and how we do it. The new normal, every single thing we do and step we take controlled by ever changing and conflicting signs and “executive orders”. Total government domination. And no one seems to care, like sheep to slaughter we go. We will soon resemble a country like Venezuela or Cuba. I spent time in Cuba traveling and its not good.

This fungus infects, kills, and zombifies houseflies for a living. Not only its mycelium may grow into the fly's brain, controlling its behaviour so it climbs to a high position and opens its wings to facilitate proper dispersal of the fungus spores (while the unfortunate hosts gets paralized and slowly dies over 5-7 more days), but recent research just found that the fungus messes also with the species sexual behaviour. Entomophtora muscae furtherly facilitates its transmission by making infected dead flies attractive to males (swelling up the abdomen) and perhaps liberating chemical compounds acting as courtship-elicitors, .

This retro release of "Mind Killer" (1987) promises plenty of psychic and mind-control elements, with the back cover (roughly) proclaiming "every brain cell filled with painter (handiwork) of the undead (zombie)." Extraordinarily rare tape, only a handful have surfaced...
