first class...up in the sky...
Also, can we talk about how Flickr won't let me change the safety level from moderate to safe??? Mindblown that my pixel legs are too much?

“Autumn burned brightly, a running flame through the mountains, a torch flung to the trees.”
Faith Baldwin
So I took this a week ago and it took me that long to edit it! Haha! But I loved it and am so happy with it. Well the leaves are a bit messy but that's just me being OCD...
I really wanted to do a leaf photo for this year's fall, but I wanted it to be unique.
Then I realized my hair was red and it all clicked. OMG DUHHH. So this was born! *happydance*
All the leaves and hair is real ^_^ All pasted or painted in.
so yeah, uploaded two days in a row! say what :D this is actually just a snapshot I took of Raúl the other day on the lake when we were hoping for better weather but the sky decided to cry all day long. those foggy and gloomy days create such a beautiful atmosphere down by the water, and after playing around a little in Photoshop, I thought it was worth enough the upload. please do make sure to press L, as it does look a lot better on black - trust me!
thank you everyone for your support, I'm repeating myself but I honestly couldn't ask for better contacts! feel hugged!
PS: make sure to check out yesterday's upload :)
I normally shoot stuff in one photographic exposure but the two elements for this shot are 185 miles apart. Leaving an open shutter capped for maybe 4 hours would have blown my sensor so I made use of the addictive Sony A7 multiple exposure app....
Chronicles of a flickering Friday.
"My dear Watson", he began as was his wont. "They have created a machine to replace all our tools of deduction. Neither a map, nor a magnifying glass to carry. Retaining knowledge of events past and present? Will not be required. Need to summon Lestrade? Just say the word, aloud."
"Excellent!" I cried, wondering if he was back on exotic concoctions of herbs and chemicals.
"Elementary," said he. And went on to babble about Charles Babbage, then a chap called Alan Turing, and someone named Steve.
"An apple in the palm of your hand, Watson. It will show you moving pictures with our adventures where a dapper gent called Benedict pretends to be me. Turns out he also pretends to be Alan Turing. Incidentally, your namesake has a lot to do with business machines, but is nowhere near as capable as yourself. Or an Apple."

One can't help sensing that a social comment is being made with this image. Frankenstein's monster with a nuclear cloud? Mind blown.
* One thing these graffiti images reveal (painted on a legally sanctioned wall I should add), is that in photography we need to move beyond simply posting or looking only at images of things we like, or think are pretty, or (worse) that we think others will like us for. Frankly, adults are people who can look at an image and appreciate it, even if they dislike or disapprove of the content. If that opens discussion then well and good. But we ALL need our mind-blown sometimes!

You know that meme picture with Jackie Chan holding his hands closely over his head which symbolizes "Mind Blown"?
That's what I think of when I see this shot of a female German scorpionfly (Panorpa germanica).
That's the name of the species, German scorpionfly, it's not a scorpionfly in Germany.
Also notice the bright red little mite on the "shoulder" of the scorpionfly.

Last night was special - life-changing even. I never thought I'd see the aurora borealis in Utah. Especially not like this. This is the first time I've ever seen it. Actually, now that I have seen it, I realize I've probably seen it before but just didn't realize anything special was happening. It doesn't look like much to the naked eye. I'm glad I made the effort to get out to the lake, away from light pollution. Now I'm going want to see it again.

Here's my top 6 zombie survivors from the Treyarch zombie mode featured in World At War, Black Ops, and Black Ops 2!
6. Nikolai Belinski
The drunk Russian comrade has been a fan favorite and one of my favorites ever since in the history of Treyarch zombies! His hilarious jokes, taunts, need for vodka, and cursing has made him quite a hilarious personality.
5. Takeo Masaki *Young Version*
I'm going to be honest here, I didn't really like Takeo in World at War. By Black Ops he started to gain interest, but not a whole lot. But by Black Ops 2 in Origins, holy crap they turned him into a badass samurai! His design and overall personality in Origins is just miles better then his personality in the other games!
4. Albert Arlington "The Weasel"
When Mob of the Dead was released, I had no idea what to do. I also thought it was impossible do to the fact I couldn't find the box. So I quit on the map for a while until my brother watched a video on YouTube on how to get the key, plane parts, etc. Then the map turned into one of my favorites of all time. I didn't find any of the characters funny, other then Billy and my favorite, Weasel. Why? Because not only is he a major plot point in the backstory, but just his overall character makes him one of the best!
3. Marlton Johnson
Right when Black Ops 2 was released, I immediately went to GameStop to pick up the preorder and pop it in my 360. I loaded up the zombies and played Town, thinking it was Tranzit when really it was just a survival map. So when I finally played Tranzit, I first started as Marlton. Since then, I enjoyed the character in every map he's in. Just his complaints about germs and his nerdy personality gets him to number 3.
2. Tank Dempsey
Back in the days of World at War, we all loved this badass marine! He killed zombies for fun and had a blast while doing it. Even in Origins he still has a bit of his badass personality kicked in sometimes. He used to be number 1. for a while, until I found someone not only funnier, but somehow better than him.
1. Dr. Edward Richtofen
I never got to play as him often due to the fact I was always player 1 as Dempsey while Richtofen was player 4. I finally got to play as him in Moon and Origins and thought he was pretty cool. But after he become the announcer and hearing all of his quotes on YouTube, I was mindblown. He not only became my favorite beating Dempsey, but overall a funnier character. Even in Origins when he's not a crazy mad doctor, he's still got the personality of a genius scientist.
Well, I always say that you can expect the unexpected on nature hikes but I think that this morning's encounter with a BLUE, almost turquoise, tree frog surely took the cake! I've never, NEVER seen this species before, which I learned, once I got home, is a Vietnamese Blue Tree Frog! I always love the thrill of a 'new to me' discovery on the trails and I fought the wind and passing clouds to make this blue guy the most photographed frog on the coast...LOL! I was truly mindblown by this beautiful creature!
Holy raccoon tail stripes my donkey lovin’ friends! Wow I did not think I was going to like these as much as I do. Specially the one on the right. I feel like I look like one of those girls in a wilderness photo shoot! One of those girls I look at and sometimes my inner critic goes “you’ll never be one of them.” Take that inner critic because I already AM!!!! Pretty mindblown with how I’m viewing myself through these pics. I know Vivienne says no pressure to catch up but I’m glad I decided to do this one today and not skip!

Take #151. Who'd thought bubbles would be so much harder to capture than water splashes? I seriously was about to call it quits, then this finally popped up (: Funny because the previsualization I had for this shoot was actually something summery and carefree... but it turned out just about the opposite. haha. I'm quite happy with it though, the atmosphere is really dreamy--hence the title.
Speaking of dreams, I finally got my stingy why-pay-for-cinema-when-I-can-torrent-movies-for-free butt to go see Inception. Because of its high peer ratings & its Nolan-flick featuring Marion Cottilard status, I reallyreally wanted to be mindblown. But alas! t'was not the case. In a nutshell, take the psychological premise of Memento, add the actions of The Matrix, mix in the surreal hint of Paprika, and that's Inception for ya. Definitely not Christopher Nolan's best.
