ミモザと河津桜が美しい神社があると勧められて行ってきました。
小さな神社に多くの人が列を作っていました。
周りをビルに囲まれたその神社はテレビ局のクルーも来ていて大賑わい。
I was recommended a shrine with beautiful mimosas and Kawazu cherry blossoms, so I went there.
There were many people queuing up at the small shrine.
The shrine is surrounded by buildings and was very lively with TV crews there.
We planted a mimosa tree in the garden two years ago and it's grown very well and is currently in full bloom. There are lots and lots of mimosa trees down by the French Riviera where the climate suits them better and you can go on 'mimosa trails' where you're surrounded by them. It's a wonderful sight to see so much yellow in February after a winter of relative drabness

It's one of my favorites because it reminds me of my Grandmothers home. Spent a many a day climbing those trees.

Les mimosas illuminent les collines du Tanneron avec ses pompons jaune d’or. Caressées par le vent ses boules duveteuses exaltent une douceur poudrée et enivrante où se mêlent les effluves marines de la méditerranée et la chaleur d’un soleil hivernal.
It's been a delight to discover mimosa here in Provence. It begins to flower towards the end of January and in parts of the region, particularly down by the French Riviera it is growing in abundance. It's surprising and spectacular to see so much yellow growing in winter. I bought some from the market last Tuesday but it died on me within 24 hours so I bought some more yesterday from the florists in the village but yet again, this morning I discovered it shrinking and drooping. I managed to take this photo today as I'm sure by tomorrow morning it'll be ready to throw out. Note to self - don't buy any more bunches of mimosa! There's lots of small trees of mimosa to buy in nurseries so we're going to buy one of those and plant it near the house. It'll be some colour to look forward to in the next new year.
