Mimi and her much larger brother, Gordo, were abandoned as newborns by their feral mother. My wife and a neighbor took turns bottle-feeding them until they were strong enough to survive. As adults, Gordo settled next door, while Mimi made our home her own.
I fell in love with Mimi almost immediately—her bright, alert eyes and endlessly curious nature were impossible to ignore. As a kitten, she used to curl up inside my hat on my desk and nap while I worked. She also had a habit of jumping onto my shoulders and riding around the house like she owned the place. In many ways, she still does.
I adopted Mimi at our county animal shelter yesterday. She is 8 years old and very sweet. I'm sure there will be many more pictures of her to come. I'll be catching up more on Flickr as she settles in here. Spent a long time at the shelter yesterday, looking at all the dogs and then waiting to complete the adoption process. :-)

Mimi, the ragdoll kitten, gazes serenely to the side with vivid blue eyes framed by soft, creamy fur and darker markings around her face and ears. She sits bathed in gentle light near sheer curtains, her fluffy coat glowing against the muted background, evoking a sense of quiet elegance.
One of my favorite restaurants is Mimi's Cafe. Aside from good food, I like their decorations. I took this shot wile waiting for our table. After some pretty heavy-duty processing, this was the result; a photo that could be hung on the wall as a decoration in itself.
Nikon Coolpix P4, ISO 200, 7.5mm, 1/32s, f/3.8, 3 shots 1/3 stop each, HDR by Photomatix Pro 32 bit, adjustments in Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 which included: barrel and perspective distortion corrections, texturing, watercolor filter, unsharp mask and leveling. Puff puff...

Mimi is an acrobatic street performer from Michigan, USA. During the Commonwealth Games she and her husband entertain the crowds on Buchanan Street lying on beds of nails and demonstrating the art of contortionism

Some of you might remember Ms MiMi.
She's either 10 or soon to be 11 years old.
Rescued from the streets of Bangkok
when she was just a few weeks old.
MiMi lives here with our niece and is
a real happy little dog. Sometimes
she'll chase The Monkey around.
She's also quick to sound the
alarm if a snake is near by.
She's a real love bug ;-)-
Todays story is about Blondie,
who belongs to Perfesser Bear.
This morning no#1 wife was taken out
to see the nuns, and of course she
spent time with Blondie and Molly.
Now PB this message is for you ---
Mr Blondie is now all healthy.
Shiny coat, pink gums and
no more eye wax. I'll do a
translation about e-wax.
No# 1 didn't know what words to
use for eye mucus so wax was
all she could come up with.
Nuns continued with his meds
and all is good to go now ;-)-
