One of the most beautiful cemeteries I ever saw; with a monumental composition of arcades, pavillons, domes, and all kind of graves.
Superb carved Medusa head at the Temple of Apollo, Didyma. I've added a bit of difusion here as I thought it gave it a sun-bleached look.

This is an artistically and technically very high-quality building of the polytechnic university of Catalonia. The round shape of the building and the reflection of the surroundings on the mirror glass make it a pleasure to look at. In 2019, after visiting the nearby FC Barcelona stadium, I took a walk in the Pedralbes area and saw this impressive building looming in the distance.

This spiral stair in one of the Sagrada Familia towers proved a bit of a challenge to photograph. This was taken wide open, at 1/30th of a second at 1600 ISO and I had to wait a while for the stair to be clear of people. A tripod would've helped but it wouldn't have been the easiest place to set one up.

Nürnberg ist eine Stadt, von der jeder auf der ganzen Welt gehört hat. Sie ist unter anderem für die schnelle Formel-1-Strecke bekannt. Andere werden es vom Nürnberger Tribunal kennen. Wenn Sie an den historischen Gebäuden der Stadt vorbeigehen, atmen Sie die Geschichte ein. Darüber hinaus ist die Stadt geschäftig und es gibt immer etwas zu tun. Einige der Männer, die an der Frauenstadtmauer entlanglaufen, können dort sogar ihre Layla suchen, denn der älteste Beruf der Welt wird dort noch immer sehr professionell ausgeübt. Auch das Gebäude auf dem Foto ist eine Perle der beliebten bayerischen Stadt. Die Kirche im neoklassizistischen Stil hat eine beeindruckende Kuppel und ein großes Portal, das mit hohen Säulen eingerahmt wird. Die Geschichte des Gebäudes reicht weit in die Vergangenheit zurück. Die katholische Kirche wurde im das dreizehnte Jahrhundert zu Ehren der Heiligen Elisabeth von Ungarn, auch bekannt als Elisabeth von Thüringen, erbaut. Sie war wie die Mutter Teresa von damals. Diese Kirche war jahrelang die einzige katholische Kirche in der reformierten Hochburg Nürnberg. Das kleine Gebäude wurde um 1785 abgerissen, um es durch eine sehr große Kirche zu ersetzen. Aufgrund politischer Wechselfälle, aber auch aufgrund baulicher Probleme wurde der Bau des imposanten Gebäudes erst zu Beginn des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts abgeschlossen. Im Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde das Gebäude schwer beschädigt. Glücklicherweise wurde es danach vollständig restauriert. Bei der Erstellung des Fotos habe ich natürlich wieder mit der imaginären Frau Perrspektive herumgespielt und das Zusammenspiel zwischen ihr und mir hat zu dem Endergebnis in meinem Foto geführt. Ich hoffe auch, dass das Foto deutlich zeigt, dass der eifersüchtige herr Komposition uns genau beobachtet hat.

Nürnberg is a city that everyone around the world has heard of. It is known, among other things, for the fast Formula 1 circuit. Others will know it from the Nürnberg tribunal. When you walk past the historic buildings in the city, you breathe in the history. Beyond that, the city is bustling and there is always something to do. Some of the men who walk along the women's citywall can even look for their Layla there, because the oldest profession in the world is still practiced there next to the wall in a very professional way. In recent weeks it seems as if Germany has a new national anthem, because everywhere you go you walk past a group of guys and girls that sing the controversial number 1 hit song Layla. There are now even brass bands and renowned orchestras that play the catchy song. What would Olivia's mom think of that? The building in the photo is also a pearl of the popular Bavarian city. The neoclassical style church has an impressive dome and a large portal framed by high-pillared columns. The history of the building goes way back in time. The Catholic Church was built in the thirteenth century as a tribute to Saint Elisabeth of Hungary, also known as Elisabeth of Thuringia. She was like the Mother Teresa of that time. For years this small church was the only Catholic church in the Reformed stronghold of Nürnberg. The small building was demolished around 1785 to replace it with a very large church. Due to political vicissitudes, but also due to construction problems, the construction of the imposing building was only completed at the beginning of the twentieth century. The building was badly damaged during the Second World War. Fortunately it was fully restored afterwards. During the making of the photo I naturally again played around with the imaginary Mrs. Perspective and the interplay between her and me has led to the end result in my photo. I also hope that the photo clearly shows that the jealous mister Composition has been keeping a close eye on us.

Nürnberg is een stad waar iedereen over de hele wereld wel eens van gehoord heeft. Het staat onder meer bekend om het snelle Formule 1-circuit. Anderen zullen het weer kennen van het Nürnberg Tribunaal. Tijdens een stadswandeling waan je jezelf als een ridder te paard als je weer eens langs een middeleeuwse toren loopt. Daarnaast is de stad levendig en is er altijd wel wat te doen. Sommige mannen die langs de Frauenstadtmauer lopen, kunnen zelfs hun Layla zoeken, omdat langs de indrukwekkende muur het oudste beroep ter wereld nog steeds zeer professioneel wordt uitgeoefend in de huisjes met de rode lampen. In de afgelopen weken lijkt het namelijk alsof Duitsland een nieuw volkslied heeft, want bijna overal waar je loopt vind je een groep jongens en meisjes die de controversiële nummer één hit Layla zingen. Inmiddels zijn er zelfs brassbands en gerenomeerde orkesten die het aanstekelijke deuntje spelen. Wat zou de moeder van Olivia daar van vinden? Het gebouw op de foto is ook een parel van de populaire Beierse stad. De kerk in neoklassieke stijl heeft een indrukwekkende koepel en een groot portaal omlijst door hoge zuilen. De geschiedenis van het gebouw gaat ver terug in het verleden. De katholieke kerk werd in de dertiende eeuw gebouwd ter ere van Sint-Elisabeth van Hongarije, ook wel bekend als Elizabeth van Thüringen. Ze stond toen bekend als de moeder Theresa van haar tijd. Jarenlang was de kerk de enige katholieke kerk in het gereformeerde bolwerk van Nürnberg. Het kleine gebouw werd rond 1785 afgebroken om het te vervangen door een veel grotere kerk. Door politieke perikelen, maar ook door constructieproblemen, werd de bouw pas aan het begin van de twintigste eeuw voltooid. Het gebouw werd vervolgens weer zwaar beschadigd tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Gelukkig werd het daarna volledig hersteld. Bij het maken van de foto speelde ik natuurlijk weer met de denkbeeldige mevrouw Perspectief en het samenspel tussen haar en mij leidde tot het eindresultaat op mijn foto. Ik hoop ook dat deze foto duidelijk laat zien dat het jaloerse meneertje Compositie ons geen moment uit het oog heeft verloren.

Amasya Province (Turkish: Amasya ili) is a province of Turkey, situated on the Yeşil River in the Black Sea Region to the north of the country. Area 5,520 km². Population 334,786.
Its provincial capital is Amasya, the antique Amaseia mentioned in documents from the era of Alexander the Great and the birthplace of the geographer and historian Strabo. In Ottoman times Amasya was well known for its madrassas, especially as a centre for the Khalwati Sufi order.
Hazeranlar konağı:
Konak, Amasya Merkez Hatuniye Mahallesi'nde sur duvarları üzerine 1865 yılında, Amasya Mutasarrıfı Ziya Paşa'nın defterdarı Hasan Talat Efendi tarafından yaptırılmış, Hasan Talat Efendi'nin kız kardeşi Hazeran hanımın uzun yıllar burada yaşamasından dolayı, "HAZERANLAR" adını almıştır.
Antik dönem sur duvarları üzerine; bodrum üzeri iki katlı ahşap çatkı arası kerpiç dolgulu olarak yapılmış olan konak, haremlik ve selamlık olarak iki bölüm hâlinde düzenlenmiştir.
Geleneksel Osmanlı konut mimarisinin seçkin örneklerinden olan yapı, orta sofalı, dört eyvanlı plan tipinde, iç avlulu, dışa kapalı plan tipine sahiptir.
Yalı boyu, Yeşilırmak sahil şeridi üzerinde yer alan, 19. yüzyıl sivil mimarlık örneği yapılar arasında önemli bir yeri olan, Hazeranlar Konağı 1976 yılında Bakanlığımızca kamulaştırılmıştır.
Konağın restorasyon uygulamalarına 1979 yılında başlanmış ve 1983 yılında tamamlanarak 1984 yılında etnografik eserlerin teşhir edildiği "Müze Ev" olarak hizmete açılmıştır.
Hazeranlar Konağı'nda depremler nedeniyle meydana gelen zemin sorunlarının giderilmesi ve teknolojik müze donanımlarının tesis edilmesi amacıyla yeni restorasyon çalışmalarına, Anıtlar ve Müzeler Genel Müdürlüğü'nce 1998 yılı sonlarında başlanmış, Döner Sermaye İşletmeleri Merkez Müdürlüğü'nün de katkılarıyla uygulamalar, 12 Haziran 2001 tarihinde tamamlanarak yeni teşhir düzeni ile Hazeranlar Konağı "Müze Ev" olarak yeniden ziyarete açılmıştır.

Canary Wharf Underground Station by Norman Foster is definitely one of my favourite London Underground stations (am I weird for even having one ?). It's such a contrast to some of the dark, old, cramped ones in the centre of the city.

At the end of 2017, KPN took the building into use as its headquarters. The building known in Rotterdam under the name 'Toren op Zuid' and designed by the world famous Italian architect Renzo Piano, is also called Belvedère or ‘De Link’. Due to the move of KPN, the building was renovated and adapted by V8 architects in 2018. I have now made a close-up photo of the special facade of the building. With this perspective and composition I want to give the photo an artful look. The front facade is kept skewed by a steel pole of around 50 meters. It serves as a large billboard. The glass facade is equipped with approximately 1000 green lamps. This allows images to be displayed. At major events such as the Rotterdam marathon, the images are provided by the municipality of Rotterdam and KPN. The Willem de Kooning Academy ensures that art expressions can also be seen on the light screen. The software to show the animations on the screen was then still very advanced and the billboard was around 2001 the largest billboard of whole europe.

Eind 2017 nam KPN het gebouw in gebruik als hoofdkantoor. Het gebouw dat in Rotterdam bekend staat onder de naam 'Toren op Zuid' en is ontworpen door de wereldberoemde Italiaanse architect Renzo Piano. Het gebouw wordt ook wel Belvedère en soms ook ‘De Link’ genoemd. Het pand is in 2018 verbouwd en aangepast door V8 architecten. Ik heb nu een close-up foto gemaakt van de bijzondere gevel van het pand en heb geprobeerd om met dit perspectief en compositie de foto een kunstzinnige look te geven. De gevel wordt trouwens scheef gehouden door een stalen paal van circa 50 meter. Het dient als een groot reclamebord. De glazen gevel is voorzien van circa 1000 groene lampen. Hierdoor kunnen afbeeldingen worden weergegeven. Gedurende het jaar wordt door KPN reclame vertoont op dit bijzondere scherm. Bij grote evenementen zoals de marathon van Rotterdam worden de beelden aangeleverd door de gemeente Rotterdam. De Willem de Kooning Academie zorgt ervoor dat gedurende het jaar ook kunstuitingen op het lichtscherm te zien zijn. Rond 2000 was dit nog het grootste billboard van europa. De software om de animaties mogelijk te maken was toentertijd erg geavanceerd. In 2001 was het billboard de grootste van heel Europa.
