Only weeks to go now for the Milwaukee to run. The 10mph slow order for the western extension is making the railroad an easy chase. #201 has crossed the Continental Divide. Crossing Blacktail Viaduct on Pipestone Pass, the train will soon be rolling through Butte.

West bound Milw train headed for Dubuque Iowa has just crossed the Mississippi river and going under the signal bridge and turn north with a rail train.Its April 1981 and the Milwaukee still has the finest mud and rock road bed.

Milwaukee Road F7 83-A is normally part of an ABA slug set, but today it;'s coupled with hood units at the Bensenville Diesel House as a TWA 707 takes off from O'Hare. February 1978.
No drone, the bridge is that high. The horizon is Lake Michigan. The locomotive below us is a GP40 numbered 2067 belonging to the hometown railroad.
It wouldn't say cheese even though we were in Wisconsin.

The Milwaukee Road began in 1847 and represented railroad lines from Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific. It enjoyed success until the 1970's when railroads saw a decline in passengers.
