this huge billboard is wishing all the Great Run participants a good millenium run...but that was before the run was postponed from just before the millenium back to its normal date in November. Apparently for 'security reasons'.

Millenium Park is kind of a cool project in the Grand Rapids area. Situated along the Grand River between John Ball Park in Grand Rapids and Johnson Park down the river in Grandville, the project involves reclaiming used industrial land - gravel pits, oil wells, messy stuff like that. There are formal areas for swimming and picnicking and less developed areas for biking, hiking, and now I see "water trails" which I assume are for canoing.
