The Silver Birch lined Old Military Road leading to Braemar with the summit tors of Ben Avon beyond.
A wonderful humid summer day to be out in the battlefield.
Humbling to imagine the men (fathers and sons) out fighting for their lives in that weather.
Some of the nice views across to the high tors of north-west Dartmoor on our walk near Okehampton last Sunday. Large parts of this part of Dartmoor are used for military training and parts of the military camp of Okehampton can be seen on the right edge of my photo.
Military base explosion. Or simply portal to another world. Anyone can see what's possible happened to this abandoned location. For those who want more, come and see our video on youtube: youtu.be/-4DarIifnRc
Kastellet is a citadel located in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is one of the best preserved fortresses in Northern Europe. It is constructed in the form of a pentagon with bastions at its corners. Kastellet was continuous with the ring of bastioned ramparts which used to encircle Copenhagen but of which only the ramparts of Christianshavn remain today.
A number of buildings are located within the grounds of Kastellet, including the Citadel Church as well as a windmill. The area houses various military activities but it also serves as a public park and a historic site.

The military macaw is a large parrot and a medium-sized macaw that gets its name from its predominantly green plumage resembling a military parade uniform. It is native to forests of Mexico and South America and though considered vulnerable in the wild, it is still commonly found in the pet trade industry. Wikipedia
I was on my way home when I passed this convoy of military vehicles parked at Hillarys Marina. As always I had a camera with me. The light was awful but the military people consented to being photographed so I snapped a couple of shots off. it captured the moment. They drove off pretty much after that.

Can you really tell an ex-military man by his walk?
It is said that many ancient empires first developed marching as a way to move troops from one place to another without them getting mixed up with other troops. A soldier learning to march to drum cadences, martial music and shouted commands is considered an essential element of teaching military discipline.

On a beautiful, May evening, I got word that the UP was running this (mostly) Military Ammo train down the Kansas Sub towards Topeka. In true PSR-era fashion, this train was running as the KCXNPX (I believe), and had 9300' of both military AND manifest traffic. OK, whatever.
For whatever reason, they had to pick up a pair of units from the yard, giving us this quartet of elephant-style GE's, complete with a SMOKING AC44 on the point. I've never enjoyed these wingless UP units, but the 7272 was putting on quite the show as it pulled through CP Z070, so I'm officially here for this.

Bullhorn guy. Rob Bell would be proud. I volunteer as a marketer for the Army: "Ladies and gentlemen, today marks the seven-year anniversary of the Iraq War. Over 100,000 civilians have been killed in this war. Over 5,000 United States troops have been killed in this war. So what if there were no WMDs? So what if al-Qaeda had no connection Saddam? It's still worth being over there! The war is not over yet and our government needs your child for sacrifice today. And if you join today, you'll receive these great benefits: Free college! Adventure of a lifetime! Job security! These are fantastic benefits, and all of them can be found at the military recruiting station behind us. However, I am required to note that as great as these benefits are, they do not apply to the dead." www.ivaw.org/
Usually these military orchids (Orchis militaris) are only flowering after the green-winged and early spider orchids. But this year has been exceptionally warm.
Normalerweise blühen diese Helmknabenkräuter (Orchis militaris) nach den Spinnenragwurzen und den kleinen Knabenkräutern. Aber dieses Jahr war sehr warm.
Hello guys, welcome back to another moc post, this is def an improvement from the last post lol. Anyways, this moc took me about a month to make, and it is for the World In Darkness group. Originally this build was going to be apoc (it will be on insta) but Everette and Tobias definitely forced me to make it modern military hahaha. Anyways, thanks so so much to Jan the Creator for helping me get the door just right, and helping me figure out how the brackets would fit in it. I would also like to thank ichoco tirimisu for helping me with the build over all.

*The lone guard outside the weathered, blue building, knew he was an easy target. Because of the shortage of weapons in the Russian ultranationalists held sectors of the Mediterranean, he was forced to use a machete until new weapons shipments arrived. He knew that he could be easily sniped from the surrounding bush from any of the other military factions that the ultranationalists were on unsteady ground with. Yet there he stayed, pacing around in front of the door, the hot Mediterranean weather causing him to sweat and become even more miserable. “I hope the leaders wrap up whatever nesting their having.” He thought to himself, as his superiors had tasked him with guard duty, while they met with other ultranationalist supporters in the nice, air conditioned shack that he was guarding. “I sure hope I get payed..”*
I just made a little steampunk military vehicule for a future big project... It\'s the fisrt time I make steampunk but I love it and I can\'t wait to work on a bigger build !
Huge thanks to clockworkbricks who helped me for the round part with bars and tiles .
I share you a photograph due to the success in my Instagram account! (At the end of the blog there is an icon with the direct link).
This enormous buildings were a Guardia Civil camp in Castillejos, close to La Mussara. It was opened in 1950 for university militias and in 2000 it was closed. This buildings became one of the most important camps in those times having more than 4000 people in summer.
I finish here a little of history about this photo, it's always a good point to know some different places.
