Along the state highway (M-21) that runs east-west through the city, there are maybe a dozen yards in which campaign signs singly or clustered can be seen for the incumbent. Few if any Biden signs are so loudly visible.

On this afternoon someone in a silver jeep SUV runs a 1-person parade with the Trump/Pence flag trailing the car. Drafting behind the car's aerodynamics, it flutters indifferently with its end dragging on the ground. The size and motion of the banner hide the legally required license plate from view.

It is notable that a person is motivated to parade this way. Perhaps it is too poetic or philosophical to read into this moment a symbolic interpretation: Peacock attention grabber that is more sizzle than substance, casually breaking the law, and dragging in the road dirt. Voting results of early November should end any speculation about fitness of leadership when one candidate challenges the other.
