Armed with anti-fighter turrets and a heavy ion cannon, these frigates use speed and aggression to break through enemy blockades.

It's been a long while since I last built proper microspace, so I wanted to fix that.
The seed part here was the Duplo tile with the red triangle printed on it.
The Dauntless-class is a combat-rated, rugged combat scout used by prospectors to discover new worlds and fight to keep them. The design is one of those that violates civilian purchase agreements and as such is not legally sold within the Core Systems.
The Cerberus - named so for it's three bulbed viewscreen up front - is the standard issue American dropship and short haul troop transport. It has adaptable, VTOL style thrusters and is easy to fly in open space and atmosphere both but come unstuck during an attack on the 'undercity' of Yystret IV shortly after it's rollout to the USEF.
Up until this mission the Cerberus had a faultless operational record, but the USEF special forces were overconfident in it's ability to operate in the confines of a half-buried city. In reality, the three ships had to drop their troops two klicks from their target and this exposed the SEAL team to enemy fire and a hostile approach. The vessels were fired upon and one crashed whilst trying to remain on station during the mission, whilst the remaining two struggled to reach the landing zone for evacuation.
The manufacturers were quick to shift blame onto poor tactical decisions for this outcome but such a warning did little to prevent a slowdown in military orders. The USEF built the mission into their virtual combat training protocols as a challenge for graduating pilots to prevent and escape; most candidates fail and are marked on how well they deal with catastrophe.
Several updates were issued to software and hydraulics to improve reliability into the Fourth Age and the Cerberus sees use with the US Marines and some of the boarding and landing forces of the USEF. Although the stock version is unarmed, it is nimble and armoured enough to survive in heavy fire zones with the right type of escort.
A heavy space frame design to accommodate powerful engines and a next generation FTL drive makes the lurid, impossible to miss Corydalis a standout freelancer vessel.

What mainly inspired me for this build:
- intergalactic racing pit stop station something by LEGOLIZE IT MAN (2018).
- Bastard of Winterfell by dasnewten (2011).
- UNES Odyssey 21 by Kyle Collard (2013). I don't recall very well but I think this inspired me for the sensor array and the general black aesthetic behind the hull.
This is my tribute to that glorious era in the 2010's when people like dasnewten, Red Spacecat, LEGOLIZE IT MAN, Ryan Olsen, Alexander Safarik, Tim Schwalfenberg, only to name a few (find all the others in my favorites), were building all those amazing microspace ships more or less inspired by Homeworld universe, or with a brick-built hull.
A late night foray into Micro-space while talking with Tommy over Skype.
Lols were had, we figured out our new theme song, we discussed why Dasnewton is so good at Microspace, and Jonesy said hi.

Hoping to have a finalized rule set and game demo in time for BrickFair Chantilly 2024!

"Well, we had a lot of luck on Venus
We always had a ball on Mars
We meet with all the groovy people
We rocked the Milky Way so far
We danced around with Borealis
We're space truckin' 'round the stars
Come on, come on, come on
Let's go space truckin'!"

I put the back half of this together largely in September of 2019 right after BrickFair VA. Circumstances changed, jobs changed, I changed, and I did not come back to working out the intricacies of the cockpit section until this month. Time goes fast, man.
I'm going to BFVA this year; I'll be hanging around the space section with this thing. Honestly, it looks better in person, but when you lose your camera, there's not much you can do.
Thanks to Simon for the suggestions on the triangular space back in 2019.

From Spook's microspacewars rules. Still needs some work, stand denotation and devices. Oh, and I should probably finish reading the rules <_<;;
Second build in my Micro-space foray.
Not as good as the first one, but I like it.

Also, Tommy inspired.
The YGGDRASIL space station -also known as Archology XII- is a huge structure housing the city of ASGARD. The tree used as base was nano-treated during 100 years, enhancing its growth to its maximum and protecting it against deep space. The nano-treatment also increased its photosynthesis and the flow of energy inside its giant leaves providing a natural energy shield to the YGGDRASIL station.
It is the home of the third fleet and its capital ship, the ODIN. The giant freighter SLEIPNIR is permanently assigned to the city.

My entry for this year's SHIPtember. More photos to come when I have time, but wanted to at least get one out by the end of the month.
Hi everyone! It's finally done. Took long enough.
This is a command frigate, about 1,000 meters in length. All the bells and whistles included: EMP beam, shield projector, hangar bay, and way more engines than anything would ever need...
Designation: DSC-24L
Class: Deep Space Cargo Ship
Weight: a lot
Length: 2,400 ft
Height: 1,600 ft
Capacity: 780 intermodal containers (840 on short-range re-outfits)
Manufacturer: Titan Origins, Inc.
Launched: March 2179
Number Manufactured: 1600
The DSC-24L is a heavyweight, long-range, deep-space cargo freighter. It is designed to house both crew and cargo in comfortable spaces for journeys of up to 36 months. The name "Camel" is a casual moniker, so dubbed for its ability to go incredible distances without refueling and resupplying, thanks to the massive hull and even bigger fuel tanks. Cargo is stored in the bow, just below the pilot deck. The ring is Titan Origins' claim to fame: the company finally solved the years-long problem of atmospheric re-entry for deep-space freighters by building the ships around a huge stabilizing ring. This breakthrough helped drop re-entry burnups by 41% from 2179 to 2184. In an unheard-of but widely praised move, Titan Origins did not patent their design; instead, they shared it with competitors and the wider market. Thanks to the selflessness of Titan Origins, experts estimate about 170,000 crewmembers are saved from death by atmospheric re-entry burnup.

Brought this little fella to BrickUniverse Jax this past month and had blast. Hoping to bring it to BrickFanExpo in Jax later this year, though I will have to put it back together because it did not survive the trip back home. Aesthetics over strength has always been a weakness of mine, and it really shows in big projects.
This is biggest Lego project I've ever done solo. It's 110 studs long without the antenna. I initially started it in August 2024 with the hopes to have it done by the end of SHIPtember. LMAO. Hope y'all enjoy, and thanks for reading this far!

A shot with the towers removed. I think this better illustrates the construction and symmetry of the lower portion.
I stole the idea of using grill tiles as track from Micropolis, but the train is my own doing. If I can ever find my exacto knife I will cut out windows from black sticker borders.
It all started at Brickworld Chicago a couple weeks ago.
First I saw Tim's amazing fleet, which inspired me to try my hand at a medium-sized microspace ship. I usually stick to the opposite ends of the size spectrum with huge SHIPs or tiny GARCs.
Then I acquired a bazillion red 1x2 and 2x2 curved slopes at a parts draft (thanks Simon!), and an idea began to form in my mind. I knew I wanted to build something Homeworld-inspired, and I remembered some of the amazing red Lego Homeworld ships I had seen: Pierre's Sobani ships, Haypro's Sobani Heavy Refinery, and Stijn's Tanker Feros. I was very much inspired by these amazing creations, especially the Feros and the concept art that inspired it.
Anyway I'm really happy with the result, and I hope to build more in this scale/style in the future.
Freighting in space, a dangerous, costly job. Get your cargo where you want it to go, and you'll be fine.
Another attempt at microspace, in a somewhat larger scale, with a more utilitarian look. Also another swing at Freighting. Inspired by nnenn, rest in peace.
Awesome editing by Fernald.
These three were part of this year's BrickCon 2025 space battle collab and from this shot it's clear I forgot to add the starfield again. All three of them are lit (hence the wires trailing down).
I built FVE-153 Kaga for 2024's collab and was happy enough with it to carry it forward with some new additions in the same color scheme. This year's CVA-153 Kaga got some slight modifications but is more or less the same ship.
The two Barracuda-class (destroyer) Escorts were an exercise in "do I have enough of the right color parts to do X...no? What about Y?" My magenta collection is small but growing and I'd really like to do a SHIP in this scheme some day.
Unofficially dubbed the 'Wasp' by Federation pilots, the M-117 is a fast, highly maneuverable fighter that best known for it's ability to operate in vacuum and atmosphere without any effect on performance. This function allows carriers to remain safely in space while its fighters carry out air-support for planetside operations.
My first microspace success, I'd like to think.
One of the more dynamic looking starships on the market, the arrowhead shaped armed courier is a popular choice for individuals transporting high value, low volume goods.

This was going to be my contribution to BrickCon 2011, but unfortunately I was unable to attend.

Entering service with the Hiigaran Navy shortly after the activation of the hyperspace gate network, the Support Cruiser is a super capital class ship designed to build and repair all fleet vessels ranging in size from the smallest interceptor to destroyers.
Built for SHIPtember 2022
Inspired by Homeworld 2 and Pierre’s Tesseract.
Length: 128 studs including forward antenna.
7th SHIP constructed
For MOCathalon 2011.
I'm psyched by how well this came out! Definitely my best microspace yet, I think. This is the first microscale MOC that feels sort of "real". It looks like a functional, complicated spaceship, which was what I was going for.
I was channeling some Jerac (upside down container idea) and Soren while making this, having spent hours looking through their respective photostreams and drooling :)
Enjoy!
EDIT: Also, Team Jigsaw FTW!!! ;)
Most considered Capt. Nygart Jensen's decision to head towards Exegol with his mining vessel "Billundian Duplex" suicidal foolery. But he had some open bills with the empire (and its successors), as they had ruined his once profitable business with their overpresence and their license fees.
To be honest, he and his crew were darn lucky that the Duplex was quite sluggish and arrived when the odds had already turned for the resistance fleet. But when the Duplex' convergent dual mining laser cracked open the first star destroyer, it was obvious to everyone that this ship's (l)ore extraction engine was modified beyond legislation.
Built for the assemble the fleet contest. Length: 31.5 studs including the front antenna. The scale is probably a bit larger than most of the other fleet's ships, but hey, it's about building fun. And yes, it's a Duplo roof, illegally stuffed and bulged.

The Teisatsu's primary role is that of a Spotter, which is a sort of support ship that uses advanced sensors to perform reconnaissance runs as well as to relay accurate target positioning information to friendly ships.
