Microchip announced a flexible, low-cost, renewable monthly subscription license for the PRO editions of its award-winning MPLAB® XC line of C compilers. The MPLAB XC8, XC16 and XC32 compilers offer reduced complexity, and provide the best execution speed and code size for all ~1,400 PIC® microcontrollers (MCUs) and dsPIC® Digital Signal Controllers (DSCs), and are available with three optimization levels—Free, Standard and PRO. By offering a monthly-subscription PRO license, Microchip is providing 8, 16 and 32-bit MCU designers the ability to make use of the most features and best code optimization only when needed in the design cycle. Subscribers will also have the ability to receive updated versions of the MPLAB XC compiler type they are subscribed to, without the need for an active Microchip MPLAB XC High Priority Access (HPA) maintenance subscription. Unlike most software subscriptions, this license is not cloud-based, providing designers the additional flexibility of using the compilers offline.

Celebrando il 50ino... ancora... lo so che non vuol dire niente questa foto, però mi piaceva la definizione, a cui non sono abituata visto che prima avevo il semplice plasticotto... e anche la sfocatura.

Celebrating the 50mm...another time... I know, this pic is not a very significate one, but I liked the definition, not usual for me, since before I used the simple 18-55mm... and the bokeh.
Microchip fitted wheelie bin that's been delivered to every household in the Aylesbury Vale area.
No mention of the device having been fitted when they were delivered, it's only come to light when someone highlighted it in the Bucks Herald newspaper.

Whilst looking for a tape measure at work I found this interesting contraption in the workshop. It's actually upside down in the picture and is used for extracting microchip boards out of boards...or something like that - I was told but wasn't really paying attention ;-)

This is the Microchip DSPIC33FJ06. I've had to reduce the resolution for Flickr, but--as always--the high res is safe and sound for any neighbors that would like it.
Think they still do micro chips don’t they, well depending on your pov, these microchips are slightly less tasty.
Macro Monday theme: unusual combinations.

Closeup shot of a circuit board, microchips and other electronic components. Strong oblique red and blue lighting
I was photographing a graphics card and all its electronic components with a macro lens, and it reminded me of a cityscape from above. So why not blend in a real night cityscape and add a little smoke to create a surrealistic fantasy scene?

I found this little "spy plane" at my work! Have a look on his back. Can you see the tiny microchip? I think he is sent from another hospital to check out our costs for some laboratory analyses.
When we got to the hospital, we scanned her for a microchip right away, and sure enough she had a chip. We called the number, and found the owner who has been looking for her for almost 10 days. We learned that FRIDA got away when she got scared of the lawnmower. The gardener forgot to close the gate, and she just ran and ran, and couldn't find her way back home. She didn't have a collar, but her microchip really saved the day. When the owner came to pick her up she was so happy. We explained the importance of having a collar and a name tag, and they promised she will always have it on.
It is interesting how many dogs end up on the railroad tracks... I don't really understand why is this a spot dogs choose.
Here are 3 videos of dogs on the tracks... I am sure most of you missed at least one of them:
