a few month ago i stumbled across www.AlastairHumphreys.com book about #microadventures
i loved the idea and so we went on our first „5to9 microadventure“. from our house we see the mount löwenburg, so we walked to the hilltop and slept there in our sleeping bags. it was a fantastic experience!!!

A little known fact (found out only when we tried this) is that at Midsummer, the sun sets directly behind the Buachaille if you're standing on the top of Sròn na Crèise. No doubt that will get as busy as Bèinn A' Chrùlaiste now that nugget is out!
New little shop opens soon and the reflection of the CLOSED neon sign from the fish n chip take-away.
My latest microadventure lead me to Val Gardena in south tyrol.
I need to say it to the beginning it wasn´t easy, it was cold, and the climb was tougher than I excpeted. Maybe because of the 27kg backpack including my tent, sleeping bag,
camping stove, etc. but words cannot describe how worth all the struggle was.
It was a breathtaking experience to stay overnight under the cloudless nightsky full of stars and to see my old friend the milkyway or as the funny south tyroler policeman said "strada del la latte" ;-)
Personally, I think this kind of trips are the best way to escape the monotony of everyday life, taking a deep breath, enjoying the silence and forget everything else that’s all I need for.
This pano is made of 9 single shots
and I´m hoping it gives you the same feeling as I had when I stood there
and admire the beautiful landscape. This time my friend Fabio Hain Naturfotografie did a great job modeling for me. Thank you a lot, your presence gives the pano just
the look that I wanted. The light on the horizon is the beginning astronomic twilight, so it was my last chance to take the shot before
the sky is too bright. Normally I avoid to have this twilight on my pictures but in this case I have to say I really like it, I think it looks special `cause for this shot it has
the perfect position directly under the milkyway bow. At the end, before some critical voices say it has to be fake and manipulated. I have to disappoint you, this picture reflects just the reality.
Mother earth is just that beautiful, she don´t needs any corrections.
hope you like it, thanks for watching.
feel free to share, comment or like :)

+++ MIKROABENTEUER Van Gardena +++

Inspired by the photography of Thomas Heaton, I ventured out to Place Fell in the Lake District. It was a tough walk chasing the sunset but well worth it.
I'm currently reading a Micro Adventure book by Alastair Humphreys, this inspired me to jump in the car on a school night and make the two hour drive. It was quite a spectacular view to wake up to before having to be back in work the following morning. Totally shattered the next day but glad I did it now.
I wouldn't advise deviating from the path on the way down. Massive mistake on my part. Something popped in my knee trying to make a short cut. Live and learn though, I guess!

5 people who had never met before, united via Twitter, set off from Glasgow at 5pm one Tuesday night.
We climbed the Campsie Fells and bivvied on the top. The view down over Glasgow was fantastic.
We were back in town by 9am the next morning.

The Government recognises the challenges faced by apartment building owners to address combustible cladding without assistance.
In late 2020, the ACT Government announced that it would develop a scheme to support eligible private building owners to respond to potential cladding issues. The ACT Cladding Program will provide financial support during phase one – testing and assessment and concessional loans for phase two – remediation.
To assist building owners and to ensure the safety of residents, the ACT Government is offering Owners Corporations of eligible apartment buildings a rebate of 50% (up to a maximum of $20,000 ex GST) of the costs of having the cladding on their building tested and assessed.
Wild camping doesn’t get much more perfect than this. Enjoying the warmth of a small campfire on a remote beach under the shining light of a crescent moon, Venus and the stars.

Hi Folks, with rd370 opening so early this year I had to take the opportunity to visit Broken Top while the Milky Way is at its brightest point. So on Wednesday, I hustled out of work, took a conference call in the Todd Lake parking lot and then headed up rd370 for what turned out to be the darkest and calmest night I can remember in Central Oregon. This is a five shot panorama taken at 11:30pm (Yep, that dark, that early in the night). Over the coming 4 hours we watched the core of the Milky Way move behind Broken Top and through the saddle of the two peaks! It really was a magical night and then we were all back at work the next morning. Long live #microadventures and sharing mother nature with friends!
This was the view that greeted me as I the sun roused me from my bed a few weeks ago.
I’d spent the night amongst the cotton grass, up on Holcombe Moor.
One overcome microadventure in the constant stream of experiences which make a typical day in the office of a Transcontinental ride: my J.Guillem Orient on the other side of this very picturesque rope bridge. In the fields. Over a quite wide river. Making my way to the Transfăgărășan road.

There are worse remote falls than these all over Australia and they are still open to sensible and stupid people!
According to the Canberra Times of Jan 16th 2024 it's all closed, and the roads blocked off for the foreseeable future!
Why not let the Darwin Awards be earned by more silly people who pose for Instagram shots on the edge of the falls!
The Missing, very good series.
A whole set of these got auto uploaded and duplicated the posting, so a few out of order and some with many views have been deleted..
