I wish I could remember where I was standing when I took this picture, but I can't. I was all the way out on the tele-end of the 18-135mm, so I must have been close to the Main Street Train Station, but I don't believe I was on the second level of the Train Station - it just doesn't seem a high enough angle...
Of course, pictured is balloons from the balloon vendor on Main Street USA at the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. ...Cinderella Castle in the background.

A sunset is a sum of many parts. Clouds, pressure, temperature, humidity, time, and lastly presence.
It's easy to miss a great shot and walk right through the quality light. It's even easier to make the mistake of thinking "there'll be more" and missing the light all together.
However, sometimes, things just tend to add up. Or you get lucky, and you're at the right spot, at the right time, with the right equipment.

This was a real quick shot as we were leaving the park. I lowered the camera way down to the ground and pointed it up towards the balloons and just kind of got lucky. If I had to do it over again, I'd choose I smaller aperture in order to deepen the depth of field to get the balloons more in focus. Live and learn!

A very, very merry and blessed Christmas to you all! It has been a pleasure to be a part of this community for the past year and enjoy all of your beautiful photography.
Hoping you all have a very blessed Christmas as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, and a happy and prosperous new year!
Of course, by now, it seems as if there are enough "balloons in front of castle" pictures to make a book out of... so what's one more, right?

What young person doesn't need a balloon during their visit to Disney's Magic Kingdom?? Maybe a Mickey balloon, Minnie balloon, or even a BB-8 balloon...or, a Mickey shaped balloon inside another balloon in their favorite color?!? I don't know about the souvenir part of a balloon but they are a great photograph...

Mickey Mouse balloon are ubiquitous at Disneyland. I do cherish the opportunities when the ballon can be the shot versus being part of the shot.
Disneyland, CA
I stumbled upon this picture today as I was debating what to post, and it became apparent to me that I'll be headed back to California in just about 3 weeks. While I'm sad to leave WDW, I'm very excited to return back to Disneyland and California Adventure and take ALL the photos.

I threw this photo on Instagram a few months ago, fully intending to share it on my other social media outlets. But somehow (ok, not really all that surprising, my photo library is a mess), the photo got lost. I'm happy I found it, as I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!
Who can resist a sunflare? And balloons? I know I can't.

I've been wanting this shot for quite a while, but Disneyland balloons often have a mind of their own for photo op purposes. But on this lovely May day, the balloons cooperated with me, giving me a horribly clichΓ©, but still really lovely picture.
I saw this single balloon tied to someone's parked stroller in World Showcase. I decided to get some shots of it because of the lovely sunset behind it.
Thanks for looking, and feedback is always appreciated!

I saw this balloon as I walked out Fantasyland a few evenings ago, and immediately knew that I had to have this photo. The wind cooperated with me and gave me the balloon's side I wanted, but with a slight catch: an angle. I like it, as I think it captures the movement of the breeze!

I love photographing all of the beautiful balloons on Main Street, but they usually don't turn out so well. On my last trip to WDW I captured two shots of the balloons that were definitely keepers, this one and one I uploaded about two weeks ago, which became my very first explored shot! (Yay!) But hopefully this weekend when I go back I will get some more nice, colorful shots of these balloons!
Thanks for looking, and feedback is always appreciated!

It's been too long since I shared a balloon photo with you guys! I went to the parks this weekend to try and do some different kind of shooting for a school assignment, and really liked the whimsy of this photo. It really meshes well with my project... which I intend to share upon completion. Stay tuned :)

These Disneyland balloons were sooo cool, but then Jessica and I heard the outrageous price of 12 dollars and changed our minds. hah
They're so cool though. They light up and change colors! Most high tech balloons ever.
Jessica thought of the idea of taking one of someone else's stroller, but we're model citizens so we can't do that. haha

So I've never taken a picture of a Mickey Balloon, gasp, I know. I'm assuming this has something to do with me wanting to pop them every time I see any sort of balloon so I just avoid them.
However when I saw the fractured reflection of a pink Mickey Balloon I felt compelled to try and snap a shot. I still don't know how I feel about it, I do like the colors that are reflected but I'm not sure you can tell what is being reflected.
Thanks for looking.
I am not usually a fan of the parades at Disney World but really enjoyed the Block Party Bash at Hollywood Studios. I saw it for the first time last year because leading up to our trip my nephew watched the video all the time. So we definitely had to make it a point of seeing it in person and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I ended up seeing it a few times after that trip and enjoyed photographing just as much - there was definitely a lot going on during the show.
I just read that they had their final performance this past weekend and a replacement will be starting up soon. From the video I saw on YouTube it seemed like a great last performance, all of the performers came back out for an encore dance once the parade was finished.
This particular shot was a complete accident. I was walking down the sidewalk trying to exit the park during the parade and had to stop here to get past the crowd. While stopping I decided to just quickly snap a few shots.
It is hard not to photograph these balloons when you see them around the park, which is obvious by how many we all take :) I was walking by and saw this balloon tied to a stroller that was parked outside the Crystal Palace. I had to stop and get a quick shot off, especially when the castle makes such a great backdrop. A cast member walking by had seen me stop and take the shot, she smiled and said there was no way I could pass that one up :)
I am off to Cooperstown, NY (Baseball Hall of Fame) for the weekend. I am planning on catching up on flickr on the drive up though thanks to my iPad!
