I am having a "me" day. I'm not doing anything today unless I want to. And if that means that I'm going to tuck myself into the couch and watch Aladdin or Sword in the Stone, then that's what I'll do! This is both inspired by and dedicated to my dear friend Devin who is also a huge Disney "nerd". Although he is one step above since he actually works at Disneyland, I have a feeling that if we lived in the same city we'd be pretty good friends!
Today I went for a fantastic 40km bike ride on a brand new trail between my town and the next one, it's on a reclaimed train route and it was just a perfect way to spend the afternoon, the trail was bustling with happy couples, kids on rollerblades, even a few horses. I love those kinds of rides!
Hope you all get a chance to have a "you" day soon!
p.s. the ears are from my very first set of Mickey ears back when we went on a family trip to Disneyland when I was 8
This was one of those lucky moments!
I went out for a short walk to try to catch the evening light ...and took several shots ... mostly of people on the move.
I didn’t see the emblem on the shirt of this guy until I downloaded the shot!

A member of the cardinal family, the Indigo Bunting (Passerina cyanea) is just about as vibrant a bird as they come. It is as though a stitch of the sky has fallen and flutters through our trees, seeking out ways to return. Fittingly, these beautiful birds prefer to sing from the very highest perches that they can find. They also share another thing in common with the sky: neither is ACTUALLY blue. Indigo bunting feathers have no blue pigmentation. Instead, their feathers refract shorter wavelengthed blue light in the same way that air particles scatter it. But if you hold up an indigo bunting feather and light it from behind, you'll see that it actually contains dark brown pigmentation!
Taken in Lower Manhattan in September of 2008. Can anyone identify the artist. I mean I know it is not Walt Disney.

Happy Monday my friends!
As soon as I got situated, my Mom's cat, Mickey, was being a sweetie & curled up on me. He's never done that before, haha...so I let him stay and took advantage of it! :)

Mickey Mouse was created by Walt Disney back in 1928, and is probably the worlds most recognised cartoon character. He is seen here helping tell the time on an old vintage alarm clock.
He is also subject to one of my favourite jokes, but I will only tell it if requested..............

Mickey's head was a chocolate mud cake with chocolate cream. Mickey's ears was an egg, dairy and soy free mud cake with a chocolate Tofutti cream cheese filling for the kids with Allergies. I thought it would be nice for them the be able to eat part of the real birthday cake instead of having to have their own "special" cup cakes.

Shot this with the Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4 while the morning light was streaming in around the blinds.
Val... en realitat només hi havia una gota (la gran) les altres dues les he afegides per a crear el Mickey líquid...no he pogut resistir la tentació!
Ok... really there was only one droplet (the bigger one), the other two have been added later to create the liquid Mickey...I couldn't resist the temptation!
Vale ... en realidad solo había un Mickey (la gota más grande) y los otros dos los añadí luego con el PS para crear el Mickey líquido...no pude resistir la tentación!
