Eastern Fox Squirrel.
The largest tree squirrel at 17 to 28 inches in length. It has three color phases: in the northeastern part of the range, gray above and yellowish below; in western part, bright rust below; in southern part, black often with white blaze on face and white tail tip. In South Carolina, they are typically black with white ears and nose.
They inhabit particularly oak-hickroy woods. In the south, live oak and mixed forests, cypress and mangrove swamps and piney areas.
They range from the eastern United States (except for New England, most of New Jersey, extreme western New York and northern and eastern Pennsylvania) west to the Dakotas, northeast Colorado and eastern Texas.

Eastern Chipmunk.
Between 8 1/2 to 11 3/4 inches in length. Reddish brown above with a white belly with 1 white stripe bordered by 2 black stripes on sides ending at the rump and 2 white stripes on back much thinner than side stripes. They have a dark center stripe down the back and pale facial stripes above and below the eyes. The tail is brown on the tip and edged with black. They also have prominent ears.
The Eastern Chipmunk's habitat includes open deciduous woodlands, forest edges, brushy areas, bushes and stone walls in cemeteries and around houses.
They range from southeastern Canada and to the northeastern United States from North Dakota in the west to the Carolinas and Virginia in the east.

Mourning Dove.
A 12 inch long bird with a soft, sandy buff color. They have a long pointed tail bordered with white and withblack spots on the wings.
It inhabits open fields, parks, and lawns with many trees and shrubs.
They range throughout the United States and Canada and winters in the northern United States.

Tufted Titmouse.
Sparrow-sized at 6 inches. Gray above and whitish below with rust colored sides and a gray crest. The "Black-crested Titmouse" is a species found in southwestern Oklahoma and Texas and is similar but has a black crest.
Their habitat includes swampy or moist woodlands, and shade trees in villages and city parks.
They range from eastern Nebraska east to Maine and south to Texas in the west and central Florida in the east.

White-Tailed Deer (female).
From between 27 to 45 inches tall and 6 to 7 feet long and weighing 150-310 pounds (male) and 90 to 211 pounds (female). Tan or reddish brown in summer and graying brown in winter. Belly, throat, nose band, eye ring and inside of ears are white. Tail brown and edged with white above often with a dark stripe down the center and white below. Black spots on side of chin. Buck's antlers can spread to 3 feet. Does rarely have antlers. Fawns are spotted.
The White-Tailed Deer inhabits farmlands, brushy areas, woods, suburbs and gardens.
They range throughtout the southern half of the southern tier of Canadian provinces and through most of the United States except for the Southwest.

Canadian Geese on Wildwing Lake.
Two sizes of Canadian Geese exist. A small 22 to 26 inch and a large 35-45 inch version. They have a brownish body with a black head, long blackneck and which cheeck patch. The smaller version has a shorter neck and lacks the cheeck patch.
They inhabit lakes, bays, rivers and marshes. They often feed in open grasslands and stubble fields.
They range from Alaska each to Baffin Island and south to California, Illinoise and Massachusetts. They winter south to northern Mexico and the Gulf Coast. Widespread as a semi-domesticated bird in city parks and on reservoirs.

Eastern Bluebird (female).
A 7 inch bird with bright blue above and on the wings and tail with a rusty throat and breast having a white belly and undertail coverts. The female is similarly colored but duller.
It inhabits open woodlands and farmlands with scattered trees.
An eastern bird, they range east of the Rockies in southeastern Canada to the Gulf of Mexico. They can also be found in the mountains in southeastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico. They winter in the southern part of their range.

Unfortunately this heron was quite a ways off and I didn't have a tripod ... but I certainly didn't expect this ...
Sandhill Crane.
Between 34 to 48 inches in length with a wingspan of nearly 7 feet. They are very tall with a long neck and long legs. Largely gray with a red forehead. Juveniles are browner and have no red on head. Their plumage often appears a rusty color because of iron stains from water of ponds or marshes.
They inhabit large freshwater marshes, prairie ponds and marshy tundra. They are also on prairies and grain fields during migration and in winter.
They range from Siberia and Alaska to the Hudson Bay and south into western Ontario. There are isolated populations in: the Rocky Mountains, the northern prairies, the Great Lakes, Mississippi, Georgia and Florida. They winter in California's Central Valley and across the southern states from Arizona to Florida.

The photos I took on this day was such a treasure trove of wonderful imagery, the heavy snow really made monochrome the best way to go. The day looked nearly monochrome as it was! Walking around on a golf course in the Cleveland Metroparks when the snow was this heavy really felt special, it was incredibly quiet.
