A promo image for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. I've used this image before in other Metroid Prime 3 related images I've done. I like it because of how striking it is. Don'cha think the blue visor looks cool!? :D
Phazon Suit acquired!
The Varia suit has been infused with pure Phazon. This corruption prevents damage from Phazon radiation.
Chozo script translated.
"The time of prophecy draws ever closer. It is said that when the plants wilt, and the creatures change, and all life fades, the Hatchling will walk a poisoned path to the source."
This build has been a long time coming. I started her with trying out a helmet back in early 2020 based on a design by Sparks, but kept putting the work in progress on back burner due to a lot of tricky parts to it, and wanting to really do justice to a Samus MOC. With BrickFair VA 2022 imminent, it was finally time to wrap things up!
Credit to Cagerrin for the arm cannon design. More photos in the album.
The #MetroidFoesCollab was a great collab, with great people, who are all great lego builders!
Speaking as someone who has never played the games and didn’t know the source material going in, I became very attached to the various art styles of each different game and tried my best to create a middle ground where the different Queens' characteristics could blend together. That's opposite to the point in building which had the most critical thinking involved - attaching the supports of the Queen directly to the ground through the stomach - which required a lot of lego math to get right!
Samus’ suit is based off a modified ACM-Frame by @moc.cls ! It’s a compact, easily customizable design, which perfectly fit the scale I knew I needed to provide some action to the scene.

The largest and rarest final form of its destructive species, the Metroid Queen will fight to protect her larva young using her sharp teeth, ramming ability, and deadly energy beam attack. If your timing is right and you can get close enough, you might find an opening to stun the beast, but a missile won’t be enough to save the day - that’s what the bombs are for.
Built for the #MetroidFoesCollab !
Villains of Metroid
Super excited about the news that a new 2D Metroid game is coming to the Switch (in October of 2021).
Metroid has been one of my favorite Nintendo franchises, and it's good to know Nintendo hasn't completely abandoned it.
BZPower.com is hosting a "build a video game character MOC" contest. So I decided to built a Samus.
Unfortunately, I started in her traditional colours, and realized very quickly I did not have the parts in those colours to build something concrete, let alone meet the Technic/BIONICLE/HF to system ratio (can only be at most, 25% system, it is a constraction figure contest).
So I switched it to her Phazon Suit from Metroid Prime. I took a few colouration liberties here and there due to parts constraints, but overall I'm pretty satisfied with this one.

made with custom-designed stickers and third party accessories, inspired by Samus Aran from Metroid Prime
I'm just really happy with how this particular UV-printed minifig I made turned out. Maybe because she's my favorite colors.

"Morphology: Jelzap. Aquatic predator made of electrically bound skeletal halves. The Jelzap's brain is located in the upper half of its body, while the heart and digestive tract occupy the lower half. Linked only by electrical impulses, the two halves somehow function effectively enough to launch the Jelzap to the top of Tallon IV's aquatic food chain."
I love the Metroid Prime Trilogy to death, and so I've been trying to see about creating MOCs of some of the creatures from the games. This is the first, a peculiar enemy encountered in the waters of Phendrana's Edge.

Yeah, we're video game nerds. We currently own and regularly play a Nintendo Wii, an Xbox 360, and a PS2, and before that owned a GameCube and an Xbox. Favorite games: Super Mario anything and now, Rock Band. Hubby's favorite games: Zelda anything, Mario as well, and the various incarnations of Halo.
Custom bead sprite of Samus Aran from Super Smash Bros. I used official artwork from the game for reference but I drew every pixel myself, by hand.

In its attempts to evolve itself, the Phazon-infused Metroid Prime has begun to mimic its most dangerous opponent!
