1988.

Happy Sunday
Astrophotography is one of the most complex forms of photography mankind has ever devised. This is the first time I have captured a "fast meteor".
Did not plan our trip this summer to Nova Scotia for the meteor shower, but could not have lucked out more for a great spot with dark skies there in remote White Point, Nova Scotia where for two nights around the peak were clear nights. This was taken on Saturday night where was able to get two meteors in the frame, as well as several satellites ...
Andromeda Galaxy can also be seen in this capture.
... we continue our adventures in this pretty area of Canada.
Cheers!

The mountain did not have only me.
Look good and contains two streaks.
Double meteor?

than a sleepy and permanent planet."

On the night of August 13th to the 14th, an unexpected meteor outburst surprised astronomers. All sky cameras observed about 1,000 meteors in the sky. I was very lucky to see several of them, and then have my camera roll on the peak of the unexpected outburst between 2am and 5am. The image below shows a composite of more than 30 meteors in 3 hours across a small portion of the sky. (Explored # 175) www.rossellet.com
Orion falls, but it's not the Orionids!
This is an actual shot of the Orion constellation and surrounding stars in the night sky, with a bit of post processing.
The crater is located 35 minutes east of Flagstaff, Arizona on Freeway I-40. An amazing sight!

50,000 years ago a fiery giant meteor mass weighing several hundred thousand tons hurtled through space and impacted earth. The Crater’s diameter reaches 4,100 feet (1.2 km) with a depth of 570 feet (173 m). The rim’s height above the surrounding plain is 120-200 ft (36- 61m), with a total volume of 82,000,000 cubic yards (62,700,000 cubic meters). 300-400 million tons of rock were displaced by the impact (272-363 million metric tons). The highest point on the rim is 5,723 feet (1,744m) above sea level.
