Nuummite (often pronounced noomy) is thought to be one of the oldest rocks on our planet. Found in Greenland, it is judged to be about 3 billion years old. It has irridescent glimmers like Labradorite or Spectrolite. I made this for myself for it's metaphysical qualities. British sculptor Emily Young is a talented lady, she has created 6 beautiful works of art from ancient lumps of stone. Each piece has been painstakingly carved and polished to create a work of art that really impressed me… they quite frankly blew my mind!
The six large heads stand around 2 metres tall and weigh between 1 and 3 tonnes. The natural textures and colours of the stones are a sight to behold, and which have been enhanced by the sculptors skills.
