ORLANDO — The 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) closed out 2015 in grand fashion during the Second Annual Lt. Gen. Jack C. Stultz Jr., Dining out held by 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) Dec. 13 at the Rosen Shingle Creek resort in Orlando, Fla.
More than 260 service members and guests attended the Second Annual 143d ESC Lt. Gen. Jack C. Stultz Jr. (Ret.) Dining Out and Excellence Awards Ceremony. The event honored more than 9,000 Soldiers located in eight states for their accomplishments during the past year.
The honorary guest speaker for the evening was retired Lt. Gen. Jack C. Stultz Jr., who was a long-time officer with the command during his rise to his position as the Chief of the Army Reserve.
“My message to you tonight is stay ready,” Stultz said. “It is a challenging environment today and all of you are living it.”
Stutz commended the expeditionary sustainment successes the command has executed in Afghanistan and Iraq.
“It has been an honor serving with you,” Stultz said.
During the Sgt. Maj. Richard G. Caudell Excellence Awards, Kevin Debold, 558th Transportation Detachment/332 Transportation Battalion/641st Regional Support Group, and Tracy Kroff, 828nd Transportation Battalion/207th Regional Support Group, won the civilian government employee awards.
Steve Buckner, a spouse from the 206th Transportation Company/ 828th Transportation won the family support award. Battalion/207th Regional Support Group, won the Sgt. Maj. Richard G. Caudell Individual Excellence Award.
Individual soldier winners were Spc. Winston Garrison, 518th Sustainment Brigade; Sgt. Megan Munib, 518th Sustainment Brigade; Chief Warrant Officer 2 Grant Erika, 362th Quartermaster Battalion/207th Regional Support Group; Capt. Daniel Barnes, 642nd Regional Support Group; and Lt. Col. John Drakeford, 828th Transportation Battalion/207th Regional Support Group.
Unit winners were the 520th Transportation Detachment, the 175th Ordinance Company, 787th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion and the 518th Sustainment Brigade.
Col. (Ret.) Edwin Marrero, was awarded the Meritorious Civilian Service Award.

An auto rack car in the consist of CSX train 506 has a message for us all as it crosses over East First Street in Dayton, Ohio. The northbound train is on the Toledo Subdivision, which used to be Baltimore & Ohio trackage. The wires over the street are for the trolley buses of the Dayton public transit system.
