Mercy reading all about the Sled Dog Poodles, racing in the Iditarod. She is VERY proud to have been the model for "Fifi" , lead poodle in the book written by Karen Morss.
Not HDR...Venus and the sun setting in the West...Over a very flat Florida..with the Atlantic Ocean behind the camera. ..I boosted the existing stars a little....had to.....they were so beautiful.....every five minutes, the sky was going through a different color cycle...just amazing. A High ISO shot that came out fine...tried shooting with a higher ISO instead of too long of an exposure...experimenting...

So recently I found a great Civil War show on Amazon, called Mercy Street. I binged both seasons, since it was so good, and decided to make figures from it.
I highly recommend watching Mercy Street!
So anyways, I made a few of my favorite characters.

Jedidiah Foster:
I used my Logan torso and coat, because his outfit in the show is very similar. The legs are dark blue, so I didn't fully steal Logan's outfit. His head is from my BossVerse Harrison Wells, with a Superman hairpiece. He's my favorite character from the show, and I think I nailed his likeness.
Mary Phinney:
So this fig... I used a Sand Blue torso as a base, and made a paper skirt. Everything is painted by me, even the plaid design on the skirt, which I think turned out okay. The head is from Star Wars, with a little of the mouth painted over, and the eyebrow color changed. Her hair is from my Leia.
Samuel Diggs:
He's the last one I made, but I really like how he turned out. His head is from Star Wars(?) and the hair is Finn's. His torso is from LoneRanger, with a reject Jyn coat. His legs are from Jurassic World. I like the simplicity of his outfit.
Overall, I really love how everyone turned out.
I might make Emma Green, but I'm not sure yet.
Seriously though, go watch this show guys! You won't regret it!

It's... been a bit of a rough week, and the next week brings just college. And let's say Overwatch hasn't exactly been helping with that. But man, I still love this game. And I thought I'd throw another MOC approximately in the scale of my Sym as kind of a last hurrah for the summer. I think I did this one better though. Let me know what you think.

She has enough horsepower and defensive technology to outrun or outfox a variety of possible enemies and hijackers and is known throughout the Colonies as a reliable, costly conduit of cargo.
The Small Mercy has an informal arrangement with Task Force Second Sabre to supply ships in the field, where normal fleet resupply may fear to tread.

This was one of several paintings I made in the mid-90s each of which was a kind of meditation on the life and vocation of a particular woman . They were included in the one person exhibition I had at Condeso Lawler Gallery in New York in 1995. In the case of this painting the subject was Donna Mandel who was part of the contemporary dance troupe Fluid Measure Performance Company.
This painting was inspired by a particular performance that Donna did (at Links Hall in Chicago) with her father where he was sitting at a table running a film projector that was showing a film Donna had shot of him dancing. Donna was dancing in relation to the images on the film and a particularly powerful moment (at least for me) was when the camera zoomed in on his cupped hands and she was standing as if in those hands. The performance spoke deeply to the meaningfulness of the relationship between this father and daughter. In my painting I placed the two of them in the apartment Sherrie, Temma and I had been living in for the first six years of our time in Chicago. The projection is based on an early photograph of Temma with a friend. There are a variety of other significant details such as
1) the various light sources, one of which being the light from the room in the back left which for me is related to Donna's mother who died when Donna was in her teens
2) the arm seen raising the curtain in the mirror on the right which is a quote from Piero's "Madonna del Parto".
3) Donna's pose quotes that of the character of Gilles in Watteau's painting Gilles and four Other Characters

As soon as I got it, I really wanted to take a proper picture of this minifigure, and for me that included photoshopping the horrendous face printing to correct the flesh tone. So I took two photos, one with the original head, and one with a blank flesh head, and filled in the flesh printed areas with the correct flesh tone. Usually I can forgive Lego's flesh printing, but printing flesh on black never seems to work out for LEGO.
Also, life update: Justin and I are both still alive and well, and we have a big MOC in the works that we'll probably finish over our spring break, so stay tuned!

Rebodied Mercy on to a TBL S21 body. Also trace=ked down her red top, leather pants and high heeled boots. Her jacket is from a matrix set, although really it should be leather, but it will do for now.

The hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) deployed in support of the nation’s COVID-19 response efforts, and will serve as a referral hospital for non-COVID-19 patients currently admitted to shore-based hospitals.
