I picked up three white, cotton, men's dress shirts during last week's trip to the thrift store ($1.00 each!!). I had a little fun today creating this summer top.
I used Texture Magic and stitched in random directions to create the front, bodice section...use the steam iron to create the texture. It is always so much fun to watch the texture evolve! The bottom section is simply the bottom edge of the men's shirts stitched together and gathered at the top. I added a tad of tattered and worn vintage crocheted lace to the "sleeves" and added a fabric flower with beads as embellishment.
No pattern was used...I just draped fabrics on my dress form until I got a pleasing arrangement.
I just love having something that no one else has!
