There are luxury hotels and there are legends. The Mena House belongs in the latter category. Located before the ascent to the Great Pyramid in Giza, it offers an oasis of wellbeing, comfort, class and style at the fringes of the Egyptian desert.
Owned by the Egyptian General Company for Tourism & Hotels, Mena House was originally a two-story hunting lodge, nicknamed the 'Mud Hut'. It was built in 1869 for the Egyptian Khedive Isma'il Pasha, who used it for himself and his guests, whilst hunting in the desert or visiting the pyramids.

Nerja es un municipio de la provincia de Málaga (España) y el pueblo más oriental de la comarca de la Axarquía.
Tiene una larga historia probada por las pinturas encontradas en la Cueva de Nerja, descubierta en 1959, que podrían constituir las imágenes de arte rupestre más antiguas de la historia de la humanidad con 42.000 años de antigüedad. Bajo el dominio musulmán, su nombre fue Narixa, que significa «fuente abundante» y es el origen del nombre actual.
Desde la década de los 60 es un destino turístico preferencial perteneciente a la Costa del Sol.
Nerja posee un clima suave todo el año, que permite el cultivo de frutos subtropicales como la chirimoya, el aguacate o mango.
La Sierra de Almijara ocupa la mayor parte del término municipal, que alcanza su máxima cota en el pico de Navachica (1.832 metros).
En el año 2012 en la Cueva de Nerja se han datado en 42 000 años de antigüedad algunos restos orgánicos asociados a unas pinturas de focas que podrían ser la primera obra de arte conocida de la historia de la humanidad.
En Nerja se rodó entre agosto de 1979 y diciembre de 1980 la famosa serie televisiva Verano Azul. La emisión original tuvo lugar en la primera cadena de RTVE entre el 11 de octubre de 1981 y el 14 de febrero de 1982. La repercusión de esta serie, vista por más de 20 millones de televidentes y emitida en países como Angola, Argelia, Bulgaria, la República Checa, Croacia, Eslovaquia, Francia, Polonia, Portugal y toda América Latina, hizo mundialmente conocida a la localidad.

This town sure isn't my kind of place as it has a sad and troubling history. The Mena Star advertised the town as being "100% white" in its March 18, 1920 edition, and a local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan was organized in 1922. In 1927, the Mena Commercial Club created advertisements which stated that Mena, in addition to having "pure soft water" and "beautiful scenery", also had "no Negroes"
