Cheers to the wish you were here, but you're not
'Cause the drinks bring back all the memories
Of everything we've been through
Toast to the ones here today
Toast to the ones that we lost on the way
'Cause the drinks bring back all the memories
And the memories bring back, memories bring back you
;) have a good start into the weekend, dear flickr friends!

Isle of Wight - a place I call home.
“What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.”

Eddie doing what he likes to do...inspect every box that comes to the house. If he fits he sits! Wishing you all a Happy Caturday and a Happy New Year!
As usual I went to my spot to shoot the Auto Train, and sometimes I'd get lucky with a coal train. Well, this day I did, and the leader was a beautiful YN2 SD70MAC followed by a CEFX SD45 and GEVO. YN2 EMDs are a really rare sight nowadays, and even back then you hardly saw one.

Today's advent calendar door contained a memory with pictures from the past year :)
Yesterday I also took a picture, but I didn't like it that much, so the upload for day 341 just stays off :)
This old church hall has been turned into living accommodation. If buildings had soul it would have many memories.
A fellow photographer friend wanted to capture some memories before permanently leaving Maui for Florida. We were shooting from the Pa Kaoao cinder cone at the summit of Haleakala. This one is for him.
Single long exposure of the night sky, Puu Ulaula overlook and the observatories. Light from the laser, two meteors and an airplane visible when zoomed in. Kihei city lights below the clouds. Last light from the sunset pushing through the Milky Way as vehicles begin their decent.
Have a nice night!
What is one to say about June, the time of perfect young summer, the fulfillment of the promise of the earlier months, and with as yet no sign to remind one that its fresh young beauty will ever fade. ~Gertrude Jekyll

Daylight
I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life
And I mustn''t give in.
When the dawn comes
Tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin
Burnt out ends of smoky days
The stale cold smell of morning
A streetlamp dies; another night is over
Another day is dawning
Touch me!
It''s so easy to leave me
All alone with the memory
Of my days in the sun
If you touch me, you''ll understand what happiness is
Look, a new day has begun.
Another dark, moody but stunning morning out in my beautiful home county of Kerry, Ireland, just before New Year. This location is called Lough Gill, and its hidden away behind a little village called Castlegregory. Talking to my family and friends who have lived all of their lives in Kerry, most were unaware that this place existed. Went here twice during my trip, the first was with my brother Aidan, and the second was with a great friend, who had travelled all the way down from Waterford, to do this shoot with me. Thank you for a great morning out Breda, both to you and your lovely sister. It was great to catch up with you.
Hope you like "Memories"
Cheers, Mike

The noticeboard in my hallway serves to jog my memory - without it I am struggling to figure out what day it is!
It is constantly changing - added to and taken away ... Full of tempting notices, postcards and all sorts of other jolly things!

Boyhood series is a narrative visual confession which maps both personal and mediated experiences. Boyhood is a time in our life when we begin to discover ourselves through inner dialogues and explore our self identity. We connect with everything around us, begin to discover and close in on ourselves. We create isolated places where we feel safe from all the hustle and bustle around us. Even so, a form of alienation can be poetically and visually beautiful. I offer the viewer a look at the emotionally unfinished stories. I create images that appear to be stills from a film as untold stories. What led to this situation and what will happen next is a question for all of us, which I am looking for an answer to.
