No, I am not 39!

But this image is 39... 39 megapixels!!! It was shot with a Hasselblad H3D and a PhaseOne 39 megapixels back. To illustrate the resolution, I put a 100% crop of my eye on the right side. Best viewed large, of course!

The picture was taken when I was used as light model for a photo shooting with Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko.

More about that later... ;-)

Megapixels - 145

Original dimensions - 9 492 x 15 225

Equivalent film size - 6cm x 9cm

Equivalent 35mm/Full Frame lens size - 40mm f/1

To isolate the subject from a potentially cluttering background I used the Brenizer Method to -

- Using a hefty tripod

- Using a Sony A7

- Using a Nikon Nikkor-P 105mm f/2.5 K pre-Ai (Xenotar)

- Using a cheap macro slider bar to center the lens nodal point over the tripods swivel point

- Take 20 to 30 photos (several rows by several columns overlapping 30 to 50 percent)

Processing -

- Using RawTherapee

- Using a "linear" camera profile

- Process images

- Using Hugin "Simple" interface

- Load/align processed images

- Using Hugin "Advanced" interface

- Allow application to set (HUGE) image size

- Stitch image

- Using Rawtherapee

- Using "Film Simulation" Fuji Classic Negative

- Using Vignette

- Adjust Exposure/Brightness

- Lower LAB Contrast/Chroma

See? Easy Peasy. I'll probably write something on my blog about these as there are a lot of details that I considered in this process. Including considering why I used a relatively small aperture f/2.5 lens when wider apertures are normally used in this method.

Only dropped the spirit level on the lightbox twice due to huge torque on the tripod head making it move suddenly when it was unlocked... fortunately no slide was on the lightbox at the time!!!

out of a broken Finepix A204 digital camera - 2 megapixel.

Kodak EasyShare CX6200 2 megapixel camera.

I ordered this camera sometime in 2012 but it did not arrive until 2013 and to be honest I hardly ever used it.

For me battery life was the major problem. I remember leaving the house with three fully charged batteries all of which were exhausted after taking fewer than a total of 100 photographs.

The other problem was that the RAW images could not be processed in Lightroom or any software other than the software supplied by Sigma and that was the worst ever. It is still impossible to get third party software to process Sigma .X3F files.

The other really major problem was that it was almost impossible to use it at greater than ISO 200 so it could only really work well in good light [a sunny day]. However, if and when the camera worked it could produce some really good images.

Today, because I made a mistake setting it up all but three of the photographs were JPEGS rather than RAW.

The Sigma DP3 Merrill is a high-end compact digital camera made by Sigma Corporation. It features a 46-megapixel Foveon X3 sensor (4704 × 3136 × 3 layers) and a 50mm f/2.8 fixed lens (75mm in 35mm equivalent focal length).

She was so into it. her family just gets into a queue to buy ticket. And she must have seen something funny though I dont see anything.

That is family love....when you can laugh at simply nothing.

To me she makes a perfect JVC megapixel angel.

the advantage of a high megapixel camera is that you can really inspect a person's pores and the tiny strings of saliva hanging from the teeth are finally possible to see

My brother finally bought a DSLR, the D3100. It has better CMOS sensor and megapixel than my D80 (which I used for this photoshoot). It's smaller and lighter than my D80 and it records HD video! Time for an upgrade for myself!

Megapixels are not my thing .... but

Another option for scanning analog photos - print them on photo paper at full A4 enlargement, and then scan the print with a flatbed scanner at the highest resolution.

Gives you a pretty decent resolution, depending on the scanner.

Next time someone toting a DSLR asks me about my Fed or OM10, saying "How many megapixels on that old piece of junk ? haha", I can honestly answer ... "About 120 mate !"

I picked up this Studios camera last year at a convention knowing I wanted to build a robot guy out of it. The hardest part was that it has a 6 foot USB cable attached to it that I didn’t want to remove, so I just wrapped it around his body and put the plug on his arm like a tool. The cord does limit articulation a lot, but I like the look of the wrapped wire so much that I continued it into his limbs by weaving some pneumatic hose through them. This is my first real Bionicle MOC, but I love how it turned out so much that I want to do more. I’ve had this guy built in a nearly finished state for months now, and he’s actually been taking a lot of my photos for me recently.

I also built him some accessories like a lense he can hold up to his face and a button he can either hold in his hand or store in his forearm.

A 14 megapixel point and shoot can make a nice photo if you are tolerant of some inadequacies in the final image. The artifacts from the JPEG can be a bummer but the portability makes it all worth it.

I hiked in at the Fall Creek Park in Felton and walked up to the fork in the trail where the bridge crosses the creek. No one was around on the way up so it was super quiet and I had some solitude to soak in all the green lush vegetation without the loud chatter groups of people can generate.

It will take some more fine tuning, but I will understand more about this camera soon. I have another photo class coming up in September so I need to have a lesson plan that revolves around this kind of camera.

I taught a simple class at work for employee enrichment that I was unprepared for. No one owns manual film cameras anymore. They all showed up with point and shoot style cameras. You can still have some small amount of control over these but I prefer total control over the input.

When you don't want to think about the picture much, and just want to record the moment, this kind of camera is really nice.

Of course there's the megapixel myth to consider. But it is a statement about how Sony Ericsson see this phone. Decidedly high end - not something we were initially expecting from Sony Ericsson's Symbian Foundation Platform phones.
