Mega Spileo monastery
"One of the most important and wonderful places of Greek Orthodoxy in Peloponnese is the Holy Monastery of Mega Spileo (Grand Cave) which is located under the shadow of great rock at 940 m height. The Monastery was established in 4th century by two monks. During its history it was destroyed five times by fires, Turks and in the last one in 1943 by German invaders. The name of the Monastery derivates from rocky complex of Chelmos mountain on which it is built above. Today, the renovated 8 floors built in rock monastery is rising on the mountains amazing the visitors."

The newest set also included Nicki and both horses. I already had Saige. Her horse doesn't have a saddle, but she doesn't mind riding bareback.
I was a little frustrated that Nicki's horse wouldn't stand up easily until I remembered that these are Mego blocks and would work with the Legos for a stand. Problem solved.
The way the dolls can hold the reins is really clever. I wonder if Lego does the same thing?
Nicki came with plain arms, but i had an extra doll from series 1 that has the same color top and sleeves.

On June the 21st and 22nd June 2014 the Archives+ team attended the Manchester Mega Mela on Platt Fields Park. The Mela is is the largest celebration of South Asian Culture in the North of England.
We made bee themed memory bracelets and asked people to help us recreate the globe on Manchester's crest by adding bee stickers to the furthest place they had travelled on our globe.
