I wanted to play around more with the very first DSLR I ever owned, the Nikon D5000, but this time, instead of using my better lenses and flashes, I wanted to try and use the kit lens once again, and the first flash I ever bought along with the first flash trigger I ever bought.
So here is the result.
Apart from wanting to play around with the D5000 again, I also wanted to take a photo with it since I always get the same comments from my friends that I only have good photos since I have good gear.
I don't own a mirrorless, let alone, a high end DSLR. My current gear is the Nikon D7200 that I bought even when the D7500 was already available (reason: I liked the vertical grip better in the D7200 lol), I only have Sigma EX lenses (yeah, not even their Art lenses), I have Nikon SB-910 and SB-600 flashes (no where near a SB-5000). I wanted to show that as long as you hone your skill, you can take good photos no matter the gear.

Having photographed my Scuderia Ferrari cap showing my love for the team and Formula 1 in general being a fan for 22 years now, I thought of taking a photo of my stethoscope as I was just have my usual nightly review sessions (even if I am a licensed physician, it is always a good practice to read up on latest guidelines) to show yet another passion of mine in life.

This photo of me was taken during a recent medical mission that was held by my Alma mater, Angeles University Foundation, specifically my former college and department, the college of Arts and Sciences, Biology department, for which I was student under their flag before I went on to take up my medical studies also in the same university.
Was humbled by the fact that my former college and department still remembers me and asked me to join their medical mission as one of the physicians seeing the patients in the event. I simply cannot say no! As this is also my way of saying thank you to my former college and department for shaping me in pre-med and eventually become the physician I am today.
This particular photo of me is one of the rare candid shots I have while doing physician things that I actually look half decent! And this was taken by one my former B.S. Biology professors, who is now, if I am not mistaken, the secretary dean of the college of Arts and Sciences now, using her phone.
She also happens to be my inspiration as a teacher - why I love teaching anyone willing to lend their ears. =]

A portrait shot of Julio Rivera, a patient within our follow-up programme. Julio had not left his house for 8 years due to muscular neurography. I was moved by being a part of his first journey outside his house for nearly a decade.

Sarah Savariyar will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. Within the Goodnight Scholars Program Sarah has served as a mentor, a committee member on the senior legacy committee, and been a part of the Goodnight Fellows Program. On campus Sarah held roles with the Pack Peers Program, the Peer Body Project, College Mentors for kids, MEDLIFE, and VOLAR to name a few. Sarah also conducted research with the Harstone Rose Lab. Outside of campus, Sarah volunteers at the Boys and Girls Club and was a volunteer tutor. Sarah has made the Dean’s list and plans to apply to medical schools this summer. During her gap year, Sarah will continue working with their Goodnight Fellow Mentor Dr. Schulz, as a medical assistant at her clinic, Midtown Dermatology.
