How not to build a lighthouse: The Cape St George Lighthouse was built on the southern peninsular of Jervis Bay in 1860 and starting before it was constructed, it was mired in controversy. It's location was selected without consultation of the Pilots Board and it had poor visibility from both north and southern approaches resulting in a number of ship wrecks during it's commission. It was decommissioned in 1889 and a new lighthouse build on the northern peninsular of the bay, however, it continued to cause problems for shipping because the sandstone it was constructed in would reflect the light of a full moon causing confusion to shipping. In the early 1900s it was destroyed.

Governor's Palace at Colonial Williamsburg in Williamsburg, VA - This photo is from the first twelve frames I shot with my newly restored Agfa Isolette III. The camera was restored by Jurgen Kreckel, certo6.com/. He did a wonderful job and the first set of pictures turned out great. I highly recommend him and his services. - Camera = Agfa Isolette III f/4.5 Solinar - Shutter = 1/175 @ f/16 - Film = Kodak Ektar 100 - Film developed by The Darkroom Lab in San Clemente, CA, USA - TheDarkroom.com

It can take 10 years for a saguaro cactus to reach 1 inch in height. By 70 years of age, a saguaro cactus can reach 6 and a half feet tall, and will finally start to produce their first flowers. By 95-100 years in age, a saguaro cactus can reach a height of 15-16 feet, and could start to produce its first arm.
Drove to Independence, MO Saturday to attend an Estate Sale and while we were there we took a spin around town. We discovered a really cool downtown area and stopped for a few pictures. This shot was taken around the historic Englewood theater, which I later learned used to be a popular Country Music venue called the KC Opry. Apparently Garth Brooks performed there early in his career before he was famous. The theater has changed hands several times over the years and I think the current plan is to use it as a regular movie theater. The 57 Chevy wagon was in really nice condition. By the way, I picked up 4 really nice cameras at the sale...more later on this. Image captured with my Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta 530/2 on Tri-X 400 film. Developed with D76 at 1:1.
Model 531/16. My understanding is that this was the last Zeiss-Ikon folding 120-film camera, along with the Super Ikonta IV--which had a selenium exposure meter weighing it down. Lens: Zeiss-Opton Tessar 75mm/3.5. Very compact for a folding medium format with coupled rangefinder and automatic frame registration. Photo taken with Sony A7 using a Yashica Yashinon DX 45mm/1.7 extracted from a non-functioning Yashica Electro 35 GT rangefinder camera, attached to the Sony A7 body cap. Loaded with Ilford HP5 Plus 400 to make sure everything works before I load a roll of Fujichrome Velvia 50.

If you've had photography as your hobby since 1964, and you move to Sweden, what is the Holy Grail camera to buy? A Hasselblad 500 C/M, så klart! After many years of watching I found one I could afford. Looking forward to my first roll of Velvia 50.
The remnants from a derailment at Harpers Ferry pose in the Potomac River as nature slowly takes over. This drawhead came from one of the locomotives involved in the wreck. Ilford Delta 100, Rolleicord III.
