A closeup of one of the choir screen panels at Notre Dame, seen before the April 15, 2019, fire that damaged the cathedral. The wooden screen, carved and originally painted in the 14th Century, is titled Christus apparet sanctis mulieribus, "Christ appears to the holy women."
Jonathan gets acquainted with the odd figure on the Trinity Bridge in Crowland. The statue is supposed to be of Christ in Majesty lifted from nearby Crowland Abbey but local folklore also claims it to be the effigy of an ancient king.
Amazing little town near Colchester stuffed full of medieval townhouses, with some 17th century and Georgian houses snuggled in with them.
