Tagged along and visited the ACCMQ medical marijuana club in Snowdon yesterday. There are still a few of these outlets operating in the city regadless whether pot is legal or not. I learnt that becoming a member would allow one to legally grow their own plants which under Quebec law you can't.

Foregrounding Métis history and aesthetic practices, this painting includes around150,000 to 250,000 bead-like dots and blends Belcourt’s knowledge of beadwork traditions with her expertise in medicinal plants. Various plants are represented, as well as insects, raindrops, dew and birds. The patterns have been adapted from nature, with several inspired by traditional Métis floral beadwork. A visual ode to water, the work recognizes the life that water brings to everything and everyone.

I finally tested negative but I think my cough didn't get the memo...

Poppy Pods have a very long history in medical practice. The pods are sliced and the sap is gathered to make opium products that are considered addictive, controlled substances. The seeds are used for culinary purposes and can result in a false positive drug test.

One of Fiona's cameras + Kodak Ektachrome 64T (expired 01/07) + Conventional double exposure + Redscaled + Vivitar Ultra Wide & Slim + 3rd exposure + Cross Processing. (!)

The last of the crazily marvellous results of an inadvertent multiple exposure collaboration between myself and the wonderfully mad (& very lovely) ~fiona~ once again. She thinks she might have shot the roll through twice by accident in Melbourne and New York - possibly three times - then passed it on to me. I definitely only shot it once - in Barcelona.

As far as I am concerned, this will always be known as our 'Two Seasons, Three Continents & Forever Crazy' Roll!

We did not plan individual frames, and had no idea what the other would shoot, what camera they would use, nor did we attempt to line up the frames. There are a few occasions when I've felt the need to crop, but not much and not on many from this roll. Apart from some cropping, these are unedited supermarket scans.

The British flora medica, or, History of the medicinal plants of Great Britain : by Benjamin H. Barton, and Thomas Castle (1838)

From the Swallowtail Garden Seeds collection of botanical photographs and illustrations. We hope you will enjoy these images as much as we do.

These lovely purple flowers bloom in Thoothuvalai (Solanum trilobatum) (தூதுவளை) plant in my garden. Solanum trilobatum is a great medicinal plant. A concoction of the leaves cures cold and cough. The plant is full of curved thorns, so one has to be very careful while plucking the leaves. Interestingly the surface of the leaves also has thorns.

wikipedia Young roots can be eaten like a vegetable (with a peppery flavor), or the shoots can be eaten as a salad. The whole plant was used to prepare an infusion with astringent and sedative properties. It was considered to be effective in healing asthmatic coughs, gastro-intestinal disorders, whooping cough and as a sedative pain-killer. Poultices containing O. biennis were at one time used to ease bruises and speed wound healing. One of the common names for Oenothera, "Kings cureall", reflects the wide range of healing powers ascribed to this plant, although it should be noted that its efficacy for these purposes has not been demonstrated in clinical trials.

The mature seeds contain approximately 7-10% gamma-linolenic acid, a fatty acid. The oil also contains around 70% linoleic acid.[14] The O. biennis seed oil is used to reduce the pains of premenstrual stress syndrome. Gamma-linolenic acid also shows promise against breast cancer.[15] Some side effects of using evening primrose oil are itching, sore throat and severe or extreme gassiness.

wikipedia Hericium is a genus of edible mushroom in the Hericiaceae family. Species in this genus are white and fleshy and grow on dead or dying wood; fruiting bodies resemble a mass of fragile icicle-like spines that are suspended from either a branched supporting framework or from a tough, unbranched cushion of tissue.

All four species found in North America are edible and are among the safest and most unmistakable mushrooms. Hericium are also widely consumed in China. This genus is considered to be easily cultivated.[10]

In China and Japan, species of Hericium are highly valued for their medicinal properties;[11] in particular, H. erinaceus is used in traditional Chinese medicine.[12] In recent decades there has been considerable research interest in the bioactive properties of this species, and several compounds isolated from H. erinaceus have biological activities, including cytotoxic effects on cancer cells, stimulatory effects on nerve growth factor synthesis,[13] antimicrobial and nematicidal activity, and antitumor activity.[14][15]

Hericium species can be purchased in dried form for use in cooking and as medicine.
