Taking advantage of the thermal differences in the flow of air, mechanical engineering faculty member Gary Settles developed the schlieren system that allows users to visualize how an object moves through the air -- in this case, a bullet.

Students in the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering met with faculty to learn more about selecting a concentration for their degree.
