This type of strap is known as a NATO strap, which I use for to keepemy watch fastened. Me being me, I couldn't resist a colourful strap either!
While shooting sunrise at Lake Minnewanka last week... I found this crack. Me being me... I got down on both knees and ended up taking this. I love playing around with depth of field and random angles.
Not the best of images but yesterday I decided to venture back to a place I visited regularly over 5 years ago . This particular spot was once a roosting ground for Short eared owls , unfortunately the farm land has been plowed and the owls never returned .. I've counted over 14 owls hunting in this area before and I know others have said 20+ at any one time . Once news broke of this the photographers started turning up in huge numbers , filling the 1.5mile long lane with cars etc .. 🙈
Not my scene at all so me being me I headed away from the crowds and found a small clump of trees which had an owl box in there occupied by a lovely barn owl 😃 After the SEO returned back home after the winter months I came back here to observe the barn owl throughout the rest of the year .. bliss ... And peaceful
So that's the story of this photograph 😆
Stowe's Hill is a tor in the south east corner of Bodmin Moor, not far from Minions. On the southern side of the hill, the Cheesewring Quarry has gouged a huge scar where the granite has been blasted out, and changed the profile of the hill for-ever. On the edge of the quarry is the famous "Cheesewring", a natural tor feature.
Of course there’s a story attached but it’s too embarrassing to tell - but if you visit here [ Get back down from that hill which is a designated ‘ dark sky ‘ area before the sun disappears below the horizon ] or risk.. a) stumbling right into a flock of woolly sheep.. b) putting your foot up to the knee in a stream before landing on both knees in the stream needing to be hauled out... c) eventually finding the road but walking half a mile in the wrong direction and...d) seeing your life flash before you in the headlights of every passing car as you try to hold two dogs reined in on a short lead as they pass and leave you momentarily blinded from the light in the black velvety night....of course me being me found it funny ( don’t worry, I know it’s not really funny and was actually serious but I have a quirk in me that did find it funny because I am married to a dour Scotsman who blamed me entirely because he had took a compass reading but I insisted my inner satnav was correct.....lol we remain married but that straw almost broke the Camels back ;))
Btw, of course we had a torch but the batteries ran out and a regular compass plus an iPhone each with satnavs but were arguing too much to remember till we went the wrong way along the Rd..dohh
A few weeks ago, there was a fire in the building in which I live. Me being me, once I heard "confirmed fire on the fourth floor", I grabbed all my camera gear, laptop and external hard drives to ensure my image collections safety. The one thing I forgot was my tripod mount.
So me being me... I started walking around with my camera and before long, this sewer caught my attention.
This image is a by product of not being allowed to enter the building for several hours haha.
They have dubbed it "The Beast from the East", a poor name in truth but they are sticking to it. Unprecedented warming over the Arctic has pushed the jet stream down to Southerly latitudes meaning the full force of a Siberian winter has hit little old Britain with North East England and Scotland bearing the brunt. Tomorrow there is a red warning for the Central Belt in Scotland meaning potential loss of life, thankfully we are still at Amber status for the time being. Me being me I decided to have a wander to attempt to capture the rawness and energy of the conditions, great fun in truth so long as you have the right clothes on.

Deforestation in the Amazon rainforest grows 96% in September, indicate warnings from INPE (National Institute for Space Research - Government Agency).
The destruction of the world's largest rainforest totaled 7,854 square kilometers between January and September, according to the National Institute for Space Research (Inpe). This is 10 times the area of New York City.
About
After having rescued Auburn and instructing Fred Duesenberg to build the Model J, E.L. Cord sought a distinctive medium-priced car to add to his growing product line. Unable to find a suitable design to buy, Cord set his engineers to work at creating an all-new car, internally designated “L-29.”
Never one to overlook the opportunity to create a sensation, Cord proposed that the new line adopt front-wheel drive, which enjoyed tremendous success in Harry Miller’s racing cars. Cord contacted Miller and purchased the rights to his front-drive system, which was refined for production by Cornelius Van Ranst, Leon Duray and Tommy Milton.
The L-29 was a breakthrough when announced, with production beginning in June 1929. Its front-wheel drive layout provided a lower ride height, along with a long hood necessitated by the drivetrain length. Al Leamy and his design staff took full advantage of the Front Drive’s distinctive layout, creating some of the most attractive and sporting bodies of the early 1930s in the process. As expected, these advanced and exceptional automobiles captured the imagination of celebrities and the public alike.
When the Cord Front Drive hit the market, hopes were high and aside from the expected teething problems with the Front Drive’s revolutionary drivetrain, the new L-29 was received enthusiastically. All that changed on Black Tuesday, with Cord particularly hard hit by the crisis. New on the market, with no established reputation and equipped with a radical new drivetrain, the L-29 struggled to gain the market recognition that its specifications, styling and aggressively low pricing deserved. As a result, only about 5,010 were produced between 1929 and 1932.

NOTE: Not being one to leave my pictures completely untouched, I just had to make some minor adjustments (a/k/a ‘edits’). The original car, as shown at the 2016 Grand Classics event at the Gilmore Museum, did not have white wall tires. So me, being me, I felt this car needed a bit of extra pizzazz and therefore, the white wall tires. If the owner should happen to see this picture, I am trusting he will not be offended. As a matter of fact, I am rather hoping he will go out, buy and install white wall tires on this car.
Excellent picture of this car taken by my fellow flckrite, Steve Brown: flic.kr/p/oUxwKX

"Keep on dreaming, don’t stop giving, fight those demons
Sell your soul, not your whole self
If they see you when you’re sleeping, make them leave it
And I can’t even see if it’s all there anymore so
When I wake up I’m afraid, somebody else might take my place
When I wake up I’m afraid, somebody else might end up being me
Being me can only mean
Feeling scared to breathe
If you leave me then I’ll be afraid of everything
That makes me anxious, gives me patience, calms me down
Lets me face this, let me sleep, and when I wake up
Let me breathe.."

In front of the (almost!) finished area is a cool pier justting out just over the Thames. It was a really busy place, with groups chatting and teenagers running about. Me being me I of course tried to stay as far away from everyone else as possible. At one end of the pier I got this nice view of a lot of newer buildings along the riverside.
Gotta love a colourful reflection, right?
Sometimes my mother would lie.
This shoe has been out in Maude Street, for over 30 years, and l cannot remember a day in my entire life, when this shoe was not out on display.
When l was a child l used to ask her, who would wear it, this enormous shoe, and she would say a very big person, or a giant, straight to my face.
She lied. : )
Me being me, l believed her emphatically.
Later when l was older, l think she may have felt embarrassed by my questions, and my belief in her, and or been bored with the, “…are we there yet..." repetition of asking who would wear it.
One day she told me that it was just for promotion, and that no one wore it.
It wasn’t like when the nasty kid at primary school, told me Santa wasn’t real, making me cry.
And l didn’t feel as letdown, as Barry my Dad’s friend was, when at the SPC, (Shepparton Preserving Company) Christmas party, l called him by his first name, while he played Santa.
Don’t tell anyone, Dad told me to.
it was always a tradition that the day after Thanksgiving we would put up our tree... my daughter always helped, she now lives in Florida...
so it's just the two of us... I didn't even cook today, we ordered two turkey special dinners from the diner... you got soup to nuts... so worth it to not have to stand and cook all day and then clean all night...
I decided to put the tree up today and also decorate the outside of the house... David was able to help a little, but with his new hip, he still can't do much...
and me, being me... I can do it all!!!
Most of the ornaments are handmade...
All that's needed is to wrap the gifts... and bake a ton of cookies!!!
Old Pack Horse bridge, Carrbridge, Cairngorms National Park
This was taken during my autumn trip to Scotland a few hours before my Bow Fiddle Rock photo. The weather forecast near where I was staying was horrendous so I went onto Meteoblue app and looked if there was any half decent weather in travel range. Luckily some of The Cairgorms National Park had some better weather and I'd seen photos of this bridge so set off to check it out. easy to find and there is a viewing platform but me being me I of course looked to get down to the waters edge.
This will be my last post before Christmas so if you are reading this I'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄 and stay safe. To everyone out there who is kind enough to follow me or fave my photos a sincere thanks - I appreciate it and especially those that leave comments.

One of the most iconic visitor attractions in the Cairngorms, the old packhorse bridge across the River Dulnain at Carrbridge was built in 1717. The bridge was built to allow funeral processions to access Duthil Church when the river was in spate. Because of this, the bridge was known locally as 'the coffin bridge'. All that remains is a single span, arcing high into the air across the swiftly rushing river below. The parapets were washed away by floods in 1839 leaving a slender arch that would be terrifying to cross even if it were not carefully protected from access. The Cauldron, Glencoe, Scotland
I won’t bore you all with the history behind this reasoning but if I go to Glencoe specifically to photograph Glencoe I stay in the Kingshouse Hotel right in the heart of the area. It’s a bit of an indulgence I know but it cuts down on the driving and it’s nice to be able to look out the window to see what the weather is actually doing rather than relying on the various weather apps we Togs fill up our phones with.
Another of the benefits of staying at The Kingshouse Hotel is that it’s a very short walk to a small set of waterfalls that someone (a Tog I expect) named ‘The Cauldron’. I’ve seen it flowing pretty full and also quite dry but never frozen before. I have to say when I got there on my first full day in Glencoe I was quite taken aback at the degree of freezing that had occurred.
Normally I’d have been down in the water with my wellies and tripod but I could not predict how thick the ice would be, what depth the water beneath it was and, even if I’d risked it, one crack in the ice and many a composition would have been ruined!
I therefore contented myself with shooting from a ledge or with the tripod and camera only resting on the ice. Me being me I spent quite a while shooting various photostacked and bracketed images (and both as a series) trying various compositions. They haven’t all worked out and others I’m in two minds about however just the fun I had looking at the frozen water and being out in those conditions were more than enough.

a custom plectrum from the brilliant guitarist Ronnie Simmons (Richie Ramone band)
After every second song or so, he threw a worn plectrum into the crowd. I managed to get one (ok my young and energetic sister Áine, fought and suffered for it on the floor and then gave it to me, knowing I'd like to have it!) ..& me being me, I thanked her for her pain and can now put it on Flickr
Richie Ramone - Cry Little Sister
After the two day train trip and arrival in Halifax we were invited to dinner at my sister in laws. We very quickly accepted and headed to Oakfield where she resides. Oakfield has a wonderful golf course but also a spectacular park and wooded trail area. Of course me being me had hidden the camera in the back of the car and after a wonderful dinner disappeared in the park for about three hours.
This is Norma's calf, Normie. I told myself not to get attached but me being me I had to give this guy a name to honor him in some way and everyone needs a name.
Norma lets me go in with him now. I think it's because she doesn't want to miss out on her daily brush and massage lol
I think he is a spitting image of his dad, Snowy. He got Norma's colouring but everything else is Snowy.
ok...here's the explanation for the title...In my car port, I have several bikes, scooters, wagon, trailor for the bike, stollers...and so on. Well...me being me..I have taken duct tape and mape parking spots for each item and for each person. Everything has a place and purpose. ~Everything in this World~ We all have a place, don't forget that. Anyway...this lovely guy was in my bikes "parking space". What a joy to see and I would gladly give it up anytime to-em.
I took this misty moody image of the fabled Mourne Mountains in Co. Down, N.I. from the beach at Rush Co. Dublin in the Irish Repulic. Its approximately 40 miles away across Dundalk Bay. They truly do "sweep down to the sea!"
It was close to this spot that the songwriter Percy French wrote the beautiful classic song words , "The Mountains of Mourne " in 1896. It is set to the traditional tune of Carrigdhoun, { The Dark Rocks } and It is a song that tells of the purist love and innocence of a young immigrant farm labourer who leaves his home in his beloved Mournes to work in London being based on a letter he writes home to his sweetheart, Mary who is patiently waiting for him to return. It is possible that it is taken from actual reality as French was a renowned writer and performer, who may have been given a copy of such a letter. The language is definitely of working class and of that time by the expressions used in it. Me being me would like, to think it is factual..
It fills me up every time I hear it, even now.Its truly remarkable. It is the most recorded Irish song ever and has been sung by all the top singers in the world including playing by all the great orchestra and solo classical guitarists. It is on more albums than you could shake a stick at in a month of Sundays and Fridays too!.
For me personally, Don Mc Clean [ Starry Starry Night, American Pie and Castles in the Air } recorded the purest definitive uncluttered version. It cant be bettered in my opinion suffice to say "Shure twould even bring a tear to a Glass Eye" Of course not to get to serious about it unfortunately this song has been beaten to death by ever "drink taken" Irish immigrant throughout the World, whose missing home on a Saturday night in God knows where land! Im including myself in that but hardly beaten to death by me,Ah no, more of a massaged to death version really! The term Mary Mc Cree in the song is not the Girls name. Mo Chroi is the Irish for my heart which is truly beautiful and a lot more poetic than my love. It is very common in lots of Irish songs. Just a little snip for you regarding Irish immigrants. Many years ago I was in Moscow. Coming back home and approaching the airport I heard the strains of wild traditional music emminating from a pub I was passing. I could not believe it. I went in and the Irish were everywhere with a full live music session in full swing! They were all over there working on the Trans Siberian pipeline! Unbelievable! We do get about a bit as Im sure you have noticed!!!
I will include a link at the bottom of the page and even if you never listen to another song in your life, do listen to this haunting version and I defy you not to be moved by it. It was a major international hit for him as he is an amazing musician and his guitar playing and arrangement is superb
Ive seen these mountains many times but Ive never climbed them I intend to set that to rights this year as they are stunning..
The photo is not the best I know but Ive included it because of the song and the historical bit and you should all know me by this stage!!! lol!
Do have a great first week of the year and dont be a stranger now. { Dont be a stranger is a lovely term much used in Northern Ireland and thats why I have included it.}
Pat.
" So Ill wait for the wild rose, whose waiting for me,
Where the mountans of Mourne sweep down to the sea "

Update!;Wow! I dont really know what to say to your amazing comments on my effort. The photo could be lots better but obviously its the amazing song and a bit of my nonsense that makes it! Of course to me the story frames the image and ones without captions arnt the same. Of course there are superbly talented people on here whose photos dont need bolstering like mine But they are special people and rare. You will find lots of them in my friends list.I am honoured to have them and everyone else as my friends as I know how much time and effort it takes!!!! Ive got lots of time so its easy!!!
Thank you once again! Pat.
Please check out Fave and comment on my other photos as conveniently displayed in my Flickr River as the link below.
The last place (and time) I thought we would see bighorn sheep in Custer State Park would be along the main highway through the park in late afternoon. Looking back on it now it kind of makes sense as the road parallels a small creek with plenty of grasses and other plants to munch on. There was a small "sheep jam" as cars stopped to take a look. Me being me, I pulled over, got out of our car and sat down along the shoulder, shooting between the cars as they passed. At one point something spooked the small herd and all six bighorns came trotting right towards where I was sitting - a bit of an adrenalin rush! There were no rams , but this pretty ewe made up for their absence. I chose black and white because the mid-day light was a tad harsh.
Have a Blessed Sunday!
My sincere thanks to all who spend the time to view, like or comment on my photos. It is much appreciated!

Day 200. 13/12/2011
200 Days!! And it couldn't have been a better day- it marked my first portfolio shoot. A couple of beautiful Moldovan models saw my work online and wanted me to shoot some shots for their portfolio!
The shoot was quite fun and they were two cool people to hang out with! Most of the shoot was full body shots, but me being me,head shots are my favorite!
Minute editing.
I really hope I can earn and save enough for a better camera body by next year:)

A BIG THANK YOU to all the flickr contacts, you guys have been really supportive. I've not met a single person from flickr yet, but still you people are so warm and affectionate.
I stood at the gateway of a field near to where I live high up in the Staffordshire Moorlands and these two distant horses spotted me, paused for a few seconds and then came charging towards me! Maybe it was their breakfast time! I had my long lens on so I took the shot and moved on - I hope they weren't too disappointed!
Anyway, me being me, I turned the scene into a dream, I've been chased in my dreams many times but never by horses! Have you been chased in you dreams?...
This morning I finally made it up to Shenandoah National Park after months of making excuses not to go. I wasn't expecting much in the way of a sunrise, but me being me I just had to pull over at every eastern facing overlook to make sure I wasn't wrong. As I was pulling in to stop at this particular overlook this deer was walking across the Drive (Skyline Drive) right in front of me. I was sure she was going to bolt as my headlights were shining right on her (Yes, it was a lot darker than it appears here as I opened up the image quite a bit). She didn't run off as I thought she would so I grabbed my camera sitting next to me, and for the first time in FOREVER I had the right lens on it as usually I have a wide zoom when I am overlook hopping, but today I was testing out the 24-120 S..YAY! As I started to shoot a few pics this woman was trying to take iPhone pics of this deer while walking her small dog. The woman walks near me and the deer was curious of the dog, which she is looking at as I shot this particular pic. Just then the woman says out loud... "I'm scared!, I hope it doesn't attack us!". I said, "Huh??? It's a deer and deer don't attack". She responds "I'm not so sure". Now how can anyone debate/argue with this level of stupid?? I think the deer was afraid of catching stupid because right after this woman said what she did the the deer ran away. SMH!!! Some people just need to stay out of nature.
In Skye with a group of toggers we had yomped up the valley from the carpark but me being me I'd dilly dallied to take some snaps on the way so ended up at the back of the queue for the fairy pool shoot. So I precariously parked my arse on a very slippery rock above a deep and fast moving cascade and grabbed a bunch of shots with my trusty Samsung mobile just to while away the time.
Ugly photographers have been cloned out of the image for aesthetic purposes.
And doesn't that mountain look like something straight out of Lord Of The Rings?
And it wasn't just the Plane that titled; quite a bit I may add 😨 - especially on the way back and I must admit the poor Spanish lad sat next to me was a star and glad the rewards in heaven that he'd get for his kindness wasn't applied there and then 😁
I must also admit I'm a bit tilted too ❤ (and not just due to the hypermobility 😜)
So on the face the fears malarky even though sans support ..........I needed to do one of the things I've always wanted to but never have ....... and get on a blinking plane again (it's been 30 years 🙈 and accompanied with a mind that likes detail and thinks about things with a dash of minimal risk to ones self - bit contradictory when it will allow wild camps in the middle of nowhere, that's normally stable on the ground though isn't it 😁)
It may come as no surprise that Snowdonia is all I have eyes for, I'd even want the meat suit scattered there when the time comes - it's that intrinsic to me ❤
........
But I have French lineage and never explored further south where my maternal side were until the late 1800s,
It always appealed in that easy safe slow mediterranean way, there's so much history in the areas that though not Welsh there's still Knights Castles, Je suis tres desole - chateaux's 😁Sacred wells, and legends aplenty .......and just so happens my beloved mountains and sea both together, topped off with a beautiful average of 35 degrees - I actually went out with out a coat!!
The geology was so Snowdonia too.....at times I couldn't get over how very similar the geology was.....A port with an Orme like rock, the colours were so familiar it was just so very much bigger and hotter!! I can't wait to read up on it all, I well reckon that West Wales and South France were joined at one state and time of the tectonic Plates.
I'm still in shock over the airports, can you imagine me nervous and as with the majority of us on the spectrum petrified of making a mistake or not being understood 🙈 and I'm not that good at hiding my nerves, and what sane, logical person wouldn't be a bit shaky at being all the way up there with nothing but metal and air between them and that lovely solid stable ground and I'm accident prone enough on that so ?? And of course I've got my kit, so trying to explain and me being me🙈
To be fair my last flight was as I mentioned 30 years ago - Turkey and Turbulence and Machine guns.....and I have watched Midnight Express ......but My kit and me weren't detained at any point.....goodness what I looked like explaining it all - Massive shout out to Sean Security Manchester for gentle equipment handling and taking me to a quiet place to recover from the ordeal ❤
I didn't die of nerves or any other event ( I am glad I didn't know Ryanair 'crashed' into a fence a day or two previous!! )
And the pay off - well for me, 3 days just being me, mountains, coast, warmth, french patisseries, magical sunrises, climbing as high and as far as I could, yes I was lonely at times and scared and it would be lovely to share it all but there's not many as tilted as me 😜 Whereas Hero got spoilt rotten by Uncle Dave next door......
But now I know the area it's got to be with Hero puppy passported up and a camper - though truthfully if a cheap flight comes up he's getting spoilt by uncle Dave.
For all the brave scared but f it anyway titled souls out there
So I'm away this weekend, doing the National 48 hour film festival. But before doing so, I remembered to upload. Me, being me, didn't upload the picture for the latest Beyond issue, so y'all are stuck with one of the ones I do have uploaded on my laptop. It's been a while since I've done a minifigures, and I'm saving the other customs I've done for after they've appeared in Beyond issues. I'm also trying to do these figures justice, as I originally made them for a series of vignettes based on the Knightfall series, and the idea kinda fell through. So I'm extremely attached to them, as they never got that chance to be part of something bigger (thus why I included them in Dimensions, to the point of making their arc a three story one, just to take more pictures of them XD)
Azbat Ver. I - I updated this model for Batman Beyond Issue 5, using some Lego Batman movie parts to do so. View the original here.
Gotham by Gaslight Batman - Using the highway man, my Knightmare mask, and Catman belt. Been meaning to upload this one for a long time, it's just been sitting there waiting for a moment like this.
Azbat Ver. II - As mentioned in the last issue, this one was remade to match how the new Azrael suit looks in the latest rebirth issues. The torso is a King Halbert (from Nexo Knights), and the legs are Naare (Star Wars) And the original for this one here.
Sorry for the hastily put out pic. 48 hours to make a film, you know how it is *shrugs shoulders* See you guys tomorrow, where I'll probably upload another crappy pic I took last week XD
Remember to tell me your thoughts, and stay tuned guys :)
When I saw these feather roses at a craft store, I got super excited! So to justify buying them I was like well I'll do a photo with them. I didn't want to ruin them completely so I left them on their stem and just pinned them to my head. Since the flower is as light as a feather (pun intended), the wire stem completely unbalanced the whole thing. I only got like 3 photos where the flowers were actually where they were supposed to be haha.
I have several other photos that are just waiting for me to have time to finish. But me being me, I keep doing rather time consuming composites. So for my own sanity, I decided to do something simple and finally use these feather roses. Next week I get to go on a little vacation which I am super excited about. I will get to spend some time with family, see some fall colors and of course get a few shoots in.
This is a shot I have pondered over for some time, as due to the direction Trebormint Strand faces, it naturally lends itself to sunset shots (if the weather behaves).
So why on earth would anyone rock up here for sunrise.
Well me being me, I thought why not give it a crack, I know what you are thinking “they are not all locked up yet”.
Anyway, I set off early one morning with my who dares wins mode of mindset at 110% in the hope of photographing something that might be of interest.
Though the sun was rising behind me, I was pleasantly surprised to see these colours being picked up in the sky above Gill’s Lion (AKA Gull Rock) and added a subtle tone to the unfolding morning.
I must mention this before I go.
We were in the village church for one of the Christmas services, and there sat a couple of rows in front of us were a charming elderly couple just chatting away to each other about the festive season, it was such a heartwarming sight.
As the service was about to start, the dear old lady leaned over towards her husband and whispered “I have very, very, very quietly broken wind, what do you think I should do”, her hubby said “put a new battery in your hearing aid!”
On that note I hope everyone out there in Flickerland has a good weekend.
The comments and banter are so appreciated🍺🍺🍺🍷🍷🍷😎😂😂😂
Cappadocia is well known for hot air balloons. We were there for 6 days and they launched twice; the weather was awful, mostly the high winds. On this morning the temps were around 20 degrees F; not a good day to be out and about. We watched the launch from the terrace of our hotel - it was a nice vantage point. As the balloons launched they went south, opposite of the normal direction. Me being me I dressed warmly and headed out. I found a road with great views and started shooting from there until some random big dog came up and nipped my back end. I did not appreciate that and we had a serious chat. He eventually wandered away and left me alone. On the plus side, the launch was pretty cool to watch.
I took these photos in mid-April 2025 near Goreme, Cappadocia, Turkey.

My wife and I were eating on the front porch yesterday when this dragonfly landed near me. Being me I had to touch it or at least try and I was surprised at just how close it let me get before it flew away. Much to my surprise, it came back to the same spot. So into the house I went to retrieve my camera and I bet you could guess how it turned out after that.
I decided to crop this photo so that the focus could be the dragonfly, since I don't own a macro lens or tubes.
Let me know what you think and thanks for looking.

My aim yesterday was to go and take some sunset shots from the side of Winter Hill. But me being me, I made a total balls up of them.
This is a shot I took just before the camera settings debacle which I'm quite happy with.
The clock tower you can see is Bolton Town Hall and the apartments in the middle ground is the Salford Quays district and Media City UK. The background is the hills of The Pennine Moors.
So being a guessing man, I would say that from were I'm standing to the hills in the distance, must be about 40 miles away!
a little sparkle a nod to Christmas is what Janet said about her outfit so me being me thought I would add my own sparkle to the evening.
Ok gold ish isn't really sparkly but it was the best I could do in the time I had.
This is an odd dress I like but don't like. don't ask I did say it was odd but you will see what I mean in the following photos.
Alright. So. By now I think you guys know that I tell you what I think the flaws in my cometition photos are. For this one I only have 2. The first being Sydney's pose and expression. It doesn't really scream "sexy" or "versatile" to me. It's more "sweet" and "sensual". The second problem is the background. Now me being me and all that jazz, I didn't take a second look at the requirements before taking the photo. So instead of a one tone background, I have a bedroom set. But I don't feel so bad because there was one other entry with bedroom set in the photo, too. And even if I get a low placing because of it, I love my photo just the way it is. And I hope you love it, too. ;]
Legs have been the mainstay of my camo since the very beginning. It's been a long journey but I am where I am today from humble origins, and this is 3 years of progress.
They are in order of when I made them, perhaps interchangeable in a couple spots due to their beginning time/finishing time overlap. Oldest is top left, then as you go horizontally they get older, then it skips down to the far let of the next row. Yeah...I've come a long way.
So this is all of them, every experiment, every pattern attempt.
A lot here have never made it into an upload, and me being me I'm working on more camo at the moment. (да Спецназ!) (Also go 'Murica!)
Please enjoy. There's years of work in this pic. Thanks : )
The original of this photo was busy. It had a keeper in the background, a red blanket that Amari was jumping up to catch, other toys scattered around in the background and some reflection bouncing off the glass.
The original will be a perfectly good photo for the zoo to use for their facebook page as it will depict exactly what you see if you were to visit the lion enclosure.
Me being me, I wanted more and I wanted to think outside the enclosure. Hence the edit, which gives a completely different feel and perspective to the same image.
* If you have Instagram you can follow me there. I tend to upload a lot more content in the 'my story ' feature of my time at the zoo.

A video of the afternoon, though not as spectacular or colourful as the last two videos
More readin' and picture gazin'!
This is from a while ago when I was walking around in the Belgian forest together with two of my friends, Julie and Iris.
They both wore practical boots with a low heel. Me.. being me... opted for 5 inch high heeled booties. Why? I have no idea! :P

Here's Zarina! She's rather pretty! Of course me being me couldn't keep her in the box like I should and ripped her straight out (I've got notwhere to put those boxes anyway so she'd end up in the loft if she was to stay in it!
She's cool! She doesn't feel as designer as some of the others, like the Villains I've got for instance and there doesn't seem to be as much hype surrounding them but I'm glad I picked her up!. They've given her this shimmering skin, which I quite like. Her clothes are lovely and she's much prettier than any of the other dolls I've seen of her!
A little bunch of events made me do what I did tonight and all started Tuesday afternoon when I got a call from wife saying she had just had someone at the door asking for Helen! She worked out who is was once the lady left. Well I sent a text a text to Janet for it was her partner who called. I was fearing the worst like you do. A few hours passed and still no reply and then last knockings of the working day I got a text back all was well.
Me being me I never trust anything I read and so after work I went home got changed and went round to check up on them both. Was a nice walk and I pleased to say they are both in good shape. I stayed a little longer than I had planned for we had a very nice unplanned for them catch up. The walk home was also nice all be it a bit stupid at 10.30 in the evening. I arrived home safe and sound then spent another hour taking photos of this outfit.
As you know i went to a 1940s event yesterday down at Chatham Dockyard, i knew it would have a number of re enactors in good kit along with a few what we call walkers. people like myself who just turn up to these events.
Me being me and not liking to make a spectacle of myself I was a little worried about my outfit, after all it's a total mock up and these events can have the "It not historically correct or that material is modern" brigade. i almost opted to go in less dressy style.
So there i was in the que to get into the place and after talking to the home I overheard the couple behind me and the lady saying "we they can be hard be hard to get of" before going on about leaving their hats in the hotel room, I of course though she had noticed my non seamed stockings. She then started to have a laugh about her partner choice of hat. i looked around and eyed him up and down and said " what made you choose that colour hat with that outfit" well that broke the ice and we had a nice chat, he said how much his wife liked my jacket and hard it is to find one like it. i confessed it was a charity shop find with a minor conversion. all in all they were very complimentary with my look.
On entering the site the whole event opened up in front of me and with seconds someone commented on my hat and how mush they liked it. in fact the hat got so many comments it was getting silly. as i walked through the traders stands I could see people looking and commenting. i was ignored by the dozen or so hard core walkers in perfect outfits. That is always a good sign, it means you are competition! and without realising it i was lol. So many complete strangers took photos of me while walking along.
For one such person i stopped for and posed a little , they took the photo nodded a thankyou and then stooped and said "It Helen isn't it?" More about this later.
The whole day was like this, full of positive comments and photos being taken. At the time i didn't know why i was getting so much attention and i was.
That was until this morning when i looked at the photos before i left the house.
I could have stepped right out of the forties and being very brightly coloured i outshone the dull blues browns and blacks of the walkers. i will say at this point though they where well dressed and i overheard many comments directed at them about how amazing they looked and they did.
So yeah this image is in a way a wake up call.
i really should stop doubting myself
