FINALLY! The day has come of the release of the first official trailer for the MCU Spider-Man movie...Spider-Man: Homecoming! (Still not a fan of that name)
Spider-Man is one of my favorite superheroes and I absolutely loved Tom Holland's portrayal of him in Civil War and I truly do believe he may be the best Spider-Man we've gotten! This trailer was awesome, although at first, I had mixed feelings about it, but then after watching it over and over again the more and more I liked it and the more and more it got me hyped up! It looks so good, and its closest thing we've ever gotten to the comics. What are your guys' thoughts? Who else is frickin excited?!

My MCU Locations Project has been in the works for approximately 1 year and a half, since Sept. 2019. At first, I made a 'People of Wakanda' figbarf, trying to highlight some of the costumes and characters based in the MCU's Wakanda that were not often seen or recreated in LEGO. Then I expanded this project to explore many different corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and completed half of the builds. However, I wasn't happy with the rest of the figbarfs I’d made, so kinda forgot about it and shelved the project. After a couple more attempts over the last 18 months, I decided to give them a final attempt in January 2021 and ta-dah! I finally had a collection of work I was mostly happy with, so here it is.
Across this project, I've tried to only make 1 of each character, but some do pop up twice, and others don't show up at all, because I scrapped plans to create a Washington D.C. post in favour of a similar, future project, which would include most of the same characters/costumes. It's been a long time in the making so I hope you enjoy my spotlight on these costumes, characters and locations from the MCU! These are posted in chronological order of when I made them, from Sept. 2019 to Jan 2021.

Warning: Long Comment
I think this picture showcases the true strength of the MCU (and MARVEL generally). Even as a self-professed MARVEL fanatic, I can admit that by pure popularity and sheer recognition it's hard to beat DC's Trinity (Supes, Bat, WW). But then what? MARVEL takes the cake. It's the breadth and depth of the MARVEL universe that makes it so special. Look at the variety and numbers of awesome characters above. Take Ant-Man for instance. Honestly, where does he rank in the MARVEL depth chart? Is he even a Top 10 character in terms of popularity? But yet the strength of the the MCU means he will likely do a bonafide film trilogy -- what's the 15th most popular DC character -- whoever it is, there is no way that character gets a film (let alone a trilogy). Guardians of the Galaxy? Who even knew about them a few years ago? Nobody outside of true blue comic book readers. Zilch. Gamora-who? But now? Groot is a cultural phenomenon. Everyone knows (but more importantly) LOVES baby Groot.
Look at the Green Lantern disaster as a case in point, who is squarely a mainstream DC character, (arguably top 5 -- an original JL member). My prediction? Those upcoming Green Lantern movies are gonna come up way, way short. And for the record I'm not a "hater". Wonder Woman? Great film. Dark Knight trilogy? About as good as it gets. If the Green Lantern films do well -- great for DC. But it won't. That's just my take.
And remember, we are not even including the X-Men or Fantastic Four or Deadpool!! Think about that for a minute -- the MCU is missing 2 of THE most popular MARVEL characters (heck comic book characters) in recent history: Wolverine and Deadpool and yet it doesn't skip a beat. Avengers goes toe to toe with JL easily. Now imagine if you had to remove Flash and Batman from the JL -- does it stand up?
Let's look at another way. Take 2 "starting lineup" Avengers out of the picture, does it stand up? Yes, it's called CA: Civil War. But could those 2 characters frontline a blockbuster? Yeah, Thor Ragnorak.
The point is that the MARVEL bench just goes way deeper than DC. Top 3? DC takes it. From there? It's MARVEL all the way -- and frankly, its not even close TBQH (possible hot take -- I get it).
p.s. and for the record, this MCU group above is still missing some pretty popular characters: Ghost Rider, Nick Fury, Coulson, Punisher, Elektra and Quake... Inhumans... Just sayin...

Notice the MCU! These are not comic characters, but rather characters that have only appeared in MCU films so far.
10. Thor: A character I did not like at first, but has grown on me since Thor 2 and both Avengers. Gotta love that hammer.
9: Rocket Raccoon: Gotta love the swearing, alcoholic, genetically enhanced creature that resembles a Raccoon. Then give it Bradley Cooper's voice and you got a great character.
8: Star Lord: Chris Pratt and 70's music. That is all.
7: Ultron: Although his back story and motivation were rushed in AOU, I still really enjoyed the Character. Still a better bad guy than Loki. (I don't like Loki)
6: Captain America: Another character I did not like at first, but The Winter Soldier film really warmed me up to the character. He was pretty badass in AOU to, and I love his morals to. He may not be the strongest Avenger, but he is defiantly the most trustworthy and good hearted one on the team.
5: The Vision: He has only appeared briefly in one film, but I already love the character, and I really want to see more of him in the MCU. Also, i'm a sucker for a British accent. Give a character one and i'm sure to love it.
4: The Hulk: Hulk smash. That is all. Not really. Love how Banner has to constantly worry about transforming into the Hulk. Also love the pure power Hulk has.
3: Spiderman: Say what you want about any of the film franchises, (but Spiderman 3 and The Amazing Spiderman 2 are absolute turds), but Spiderman is an awesome character. It's fun to watch him web swing and jump around the city. He also has probably the best rouges gallery in the Marvel Universe.
2: Ironman: Even though Ironmans character was almost ruined with Ironman 3, the first film still overrides it. Robert Downey Jr. owns this role. The first Ironman film is one of Marvels best, and it still remains one of my favorites. Love the suit, love the personality, love the character.
1: Groot: go ahead and call me a fake Guardians fan. Yea, I've only seen the film. I don't read the comics. I don't care. Guardians of The Galaxy is by far my favorite Marvel film, and Groot is now my favorite MCU character. I love his personality, design, and powers. He's just awesome. A gental giant that wouldn't hurt a fly unless you piss him off. I love it. Groot won my heart with three words, "I am Groot".....exclusively in that order.
So what do you think? What are your top 10 favorite MCU characters.
And who knows, this list will probably change as new movies come out. I might like Antman or Black Panther, but we will just have to wait and see.

Part 7: Iron Man 3 (2013)
OK, yes this is a re-post (I made some slight tweaks in the dialogue box)
1) I am running up against the clock now -- and Destiny will be arriving soon. Very soon (read: this may not be the last re-posting of a previous pic...)
2) In my defense, when I was initially brainstorming ideas for my "Road to Infinity War" tribute -- and these "vignettes" were just a bunch of random ideas floating in the ether ("There was an idea :D") -- this particular scene from IM3 was one that stuck in my mind, so it rightfully belongs here.
3) You will notice I have deleted the previous version -- so if you fav'd that one, please re-fav this one.
4) As before, huge shout out to xJohns for usage of his awesome photo.
5) Still scratching my head about Thor Dark World -- any suggestions, please leave them below!

Thor: The Dark World (2013) - The MCU Infinity Saga No. 8 from Marvel - MCU
I don't have much of an opinion on Thor TDW honestly. It's kinda just a solid sci-fi/fantasy action movie and not much more, for me at least. The soundtrack absolutely slaps though!
I give it a 6/10. What are your thoughts on the film?

I wanted to build a spider mech for the #9brickmech challenge hosted by #bricksandbeer, and started building a week ago. I thought it would be a cool idea to spread it out over a large area while still keeping it under the 9 bricks limit. I've wanted to build the "Tick" mech by Theo Stylianides for a long time, and this seemed like a good opportunity.
Cheers!
While the 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy LEGO sets were fantastic, the weakest one by far would be the 76019 Starblaster Showdown, partially due to its inaccurate rendition of the Nova Starblaster itself.
To give the ship the angular build that it deserves, I completely removed the original curvature-based cockpit and replaced it with one made out of SNOT pieces and the new X-Wing canopy in trans-grey, with a vertical tile piece in the middle for extra angles.
Currently, I'm keeping the original wings and thrusters, but I may return to improve upon those aspects later, so any suggestions/comments would be appreciated.

A bunch of upgraded MCU figures, from left to right:
Endgame Thor: The hair isn't too accurate--Fili's (from The Hobbit sets) hairpiece would've worked a lot better, but I don't have that, and I think Luke's hair works second best. Everything else is the same from the last Marvel-related picture.
Iron Man Mark 85: Got this guy off Bricklink and gave him some sweet, sweet chrome gold arms. I think they match the gold printing on his legs really well, better than Lego's original pearl gold colored arms. Inspired by Minisuperheroestoday on instagram, but I've seen a lot of people use this combo before.
Captain America: I feel the AOU Cap torso is best Lego Cap torso. If you think differently, that's totally fine :), this is just my opinion. Pretty much my ultimate cap right now, at least until Phoenix Customs releases his Endgame Scaled suit Cap! That’s going to take the cake for the best LEGO rendition of MCU Cap! :D
Bucky: Thought Sirius Black's head worked pretty nice for an Endgame version of him.
Starlord: Finally got the LM2 Wildstyle legs and put them on him. I think he looks really nice, though some arms from the Rocket Raccoon polybag would make him even better. Still a great fig imo :)
Black Panther: Same as before, but I cut some excess chrome sticker paper out of the Harry Potter Great Hall sticker sheet and put them in Black Panther's eyeholes. This picture doesn't really do him justice--under the right lighting, his eyes look pretty darn awesome.
What do you guys think? Comments are, as always, very much appreciated!

Age of Ultron is underrated! There, I said it. I probably rewatch this MCU movie the most out of all of them. Some of the storylines are a bit meh but they're still important points in these characters' development! Solid 8/10 from me. What are your thoughts on the film?
