Too bad I couldn't get a closer pic, you could check out the pink t-shirts! Had to take the pic quick as there was a l-o-n-g line of cars coming the opposite direction and they would have blocked them completely.

And an excerpt: Also impressive are the Sheriff’s get tough policies. For example, he banned smoking, coffee, movies, pornographic magazines, and unrestricted TV in all jails. He has the cheapest meals in the U.S. too. The average meal costs about 15 cents, and inmates are fed only twice daily, to cut the labor costs of meal delivery. He even stopped serving them salt and pepper to save tax payers $20,000 a year.
Another program Arpaio is very wellknown for is the pink under shorts he makes all inmates wear. Years ago, when the Sheriff learned that inmates were stealing jailhouse white boxers, Arpaio had all inmate underwear dyed pink for better inventory control. The same is true for the Sheriff’s handcuffs. When they started disappearing, he ordered pink handcuffs as a replacement. And later, when the Sheriff learned the calming, psychological effects of the color pink—sheets, towels, socks— everything inmates wear, except for the old-fashioned black and white striped uniform, were dyed pink.
Christopher De’l Atkins (DOB: 6/21/2010) - JUVENILES CHARGED WITH FIRST-DEGREE MURDER
On Thursday, March 30, 2023, at approximately 10:52 pm, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies responded to the area of Forest Lakes Park on SE 183rd Avenue Road in response to an injured female laying on the side of the road suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim, later identified as Layla Silvernail (DOB: 10/31/2006), was transported to a hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The following morning, March 31, 2023, at approximately 7:55 am, deputies responded to SE 94th Street and SE 188th Court in response to a report of another person lying on the side of the road. When deputies responded, they discovered a male juvenile deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. On Saturday, April 1, 2023, at approximately 12:28 pm, following up on a tip, deputies located Layla Silvernail’s vehicle abandoned and partially submerged in a small pond near Ocklawaha, Florida. The vehicle was approximately 9 miles away from the location where Layla Silvernail was located. When detectives searched the vehicle, they located a female juvenile victim deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
Through various investigative techniques and numerous tips from citizens, detectives were able to develop three suspects in this case. Robert Le’Andrew Robinson (DOB: 12/31/2005), Christopher De’l Atkins (DOB: 6/21/2010) and Tahj Brewton (DOB: 6/15/2006). Robinson and Atkins have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder while Brewton is still at large.
Sheriff Woods stated, “This investigation has been a success because of several factors. Our law enforcement partners with the FBI, the U.S. Marshal’s Service, State Attorney Bill Gladson’s Office, FDLE, the Ocala Police Department, my deputies, detectives, and forensics professionals, and finally, our citizens who provided numerous tips all along the way.”

On my way to a photo shoot I drove past the county jail and this was parked out front. I do not think even Texas has a Sheriff with a bigger gun than Sheriff Joe's. I watch a lot of TV movies, and I haven't even seen a movie where a local police department has its own tank.

Located here at the training academy are two 2002 CVPI's. One used to belong to the Marion County Sheriffs Office before they merged, the white one was IPD, and the grey was after the merge.
Update: I just read another report, along with a video, and found out the raid with the tank took place less than a mile from my house; darn, and I missed it.

Departing.
This aircraft was originally given to the MCSO by the Department of Defense under one of their programs that gave surplus military equipment to law enforcement agencies. When it was found that the MCSO had lost track of some guns that were obtained under the same program, the DoD ordered that all of the donated equipment be returned.
As can be seen in the photo, the word 'Maricopa' has been removed from the helicopter. I think they are training a pilot who will fly it for the agency that will now receive it.
