Pink, small, and punctual,

Aromatic, low,

Covert in April,

Candid in May,

Dear to the moss,

Known by the knoll,

Next to the robin

In every human soul.

Bold little beauty,

Bedecked with thee,

Nature forswears

Antiquity.

Emily Dickinson

Warm thanks and greetings to all Flickr friends, who encouraged me yesterday when I was down.

Texture: My own.

I cannot recall such a superb display of May blossom as we've had this year.

I can confidently cast a clout or two now!

For those with an interest in our sayings:

May it be an evening star

Shines down upon you

May it be when darkness falls

Your heart will be true

You walk a lonely road

Oh, how far you are from home

Mornië utúlië ((darkness has come))

Believe and you will find your way

Mornië alantië ((darkness has fallen))

A promise lives within you now

May it be the shadows call

Will fly away

May it be your journey on

To light the day

When the night is overcome

You may rise to find the sun

Mornië utúlië ((darkness has come))

Believe and you will find your way

Mornië alantië ((darkness has fallen))

A promise lives within you now

Cape May Warblers hunt insects among branches, sip nectar from flowers, or eat fruit. They take most food by probing and picking but also catch insects in midair or hover to pluck items from leaves and branches. (Cornell Lab)

After an abnormally sunny and warm April, May has brought much-needed rain and tempestuous clouds to the Olympic Peninsula.

A new week a new location. Skye is always fantastic and this is the view from the new cottage. I've yet to see Blaven , but I know it's waiting there to perform when the time is right. May you never is by John Martyn. May you never tire of mist and cloud over mountains.

Exquisitely patterned Eastern Pine Elfin butterfly taking nectar from flowers in a wild Dewberry bramble.

Rare find. Generally inhabits the canopy of naturally occurring, or planted, Pine stands. Produces one brood in early May and it's lifecycle is usually completed by the end of the month. Possibly somewhat common high above, yet rarely seen at ground level.

May 11am hour. Even though this tree is not getting as much water this year, if you watch the skies, its blossoms are spectacular!

Aboutme

Perhaps because it's been on the dry side, there haven't been many good sunsets lately, but May 14 had a nice one. There is a Mallard family out for a cruise in the distance.

Rain at night, works great for shooting some Morning Macro.

Thank you so much, Avocae and Christina, for using my photos for your new group covers. :D

A view along the impressive Cascades Lakes Scenic Byway. Mt. Bachelor was to the right.

Looking at the back side of Broken Top volcano rising above Fall Creek as the spring melt flows to Sparks Lake behind me, which was still covered in snow.
