The Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) family of vehicles provides Soldiers with highly survivable multimission platforms capable of mitigating improvised explosive devices, rocket-propelled grenades, explosively formed penetrators, underbody mines and small arms fire threats which produce the greatest number of casualties in Overseas Contingency Operations.

The Army MRAP enduring fleet is comprised of two primary vehicle platforms, the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected All-Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV) and the MaxxPro Family of Vehicles. This versatile family of vehicles performs the mission roles of Armored Personnel Carrier, Weapons Carrier, Convoy Protection Platform, Key Leader Vehicle, Command Post and Armored Ambulance.

MRAP's also provide light forces with protected mobility and mounted firepower to perform Wide Area Security while countering threats employing asymmetric tactics. They provide a rapid motorization capability for Brigade Combat Teams as the mission transitions from decisive operations to stability, or perform rear-area security during decisive operations.

The Navistar Defense Husky Protected Support Vehicle is a military vehicle designed for route clearance and explosive hazard detection. It is primarily used by the United States Army and Marine Corps, as well as other allied forces.

This PSV was based in Afghanistan, 2012. It was involved in 3 separate bombing incidents. Despite this, no casualties were sustained.

The Husky is built on a Navistar MaxxPro MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) chassis, which provides excellent protection against improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and other threats. It has a V-shaped hull that deflects blasts away from the vehicle and its occupants.

The vehicle is equipped with a variety of sensors and detection systems, including ground-penetrating radar, metal detectors, and a remote-controlled mine roller system. These systems allow the Husky to detect and clear mines and other explosive hazards from roads and other areas.

The Husky can accommodate a crew of up to four personnel, including a driver, commander, and two operators. It has a top speed of around 65 miles per hour and a range of up to 400 miles.

Overall, the Navistar Defense Husky Protected Support Vehicle is a highly capable and versatile military vehicle that plays a critical role in route clearance and explosive hazard detection operations.
