Those who know me personally know that I love loons. They are in fact likely my very favourite bird not only in Canada but likely in the entire world. There are few things that I prefer doing than sitting and watching, listening to, and of course photoraphing these special birds. As such, I couldn't resist posting a loon image for the second straight day! I'll call this one 'mauve reflection'.

An afterglow in meteorology consists of several atmospheric optical phenomena, with a general definition as a broad arch of whitish or pinkish sunlight in the twilight sky, consisting of the bright segment and the purple light. Purple light mainly occurs when the Sun is 2–6° below the horizon, from civil to nautical twilight, while the bright segment lasts until the end of the nautical twilight.

This week's Smile on Saturday theme is "Flora in Monotone" and way outside my comfort zone, but fun.

Sorry for lack of comments - I'm having Flickr problems this evening!!!!
The first of a small number of images from the Lavender field . This spot really put me to the test , not only technically but my patience. I could not see the LCD on the back of the camera with the bright sunshine beating down on it , I seem to use the LCD more than the viewfinder these days but that has changed this morning. This was going to be a focus stack but trying to place a focus point on other parts of the screen was a no no , the first shot this one was fine I was able to do that but trying to see was really difficult . The temperature when we got here was 29c and heat on the ground was radiating back up to me.
With this image I was crouching down behind my tripod trying to focus when someone came and stood in front of my camera they were too busy with a selfy stick lol. I have done quite a bit of work with the clone stamp I took out 25 people to give me a clean image as far as possible. A couple more images to come but a nice damp overcast day would have been perfect .
