It's still FREEZING here, but look at how nice and green my grass is.....that's kinda strange! Friday they say we might get snow flurries, now that's even stranger!!! This has been the coldest winter in history here in Florida and it's only January!!! My dogs are enjoying the cold temps. I'm a bit surprised that Lola likes it too, since she has no body hair (alopecia x) I thought it would be too cold for her.
Someone has a Birthday no flowers for the lady as she loves nature,

The Damselfly (Suborder Zygoptera) is an insect in the Order Odonata. Damselflies are similar to dragonflies, but the adults can be differentiated by the fact that the wings of most damselflies are held along, and parallel to, the body when at rest. Furthermore, the hindwing of the damselfly is essentially similar to the forewing, while the hindwing of the dragonfly broadens near the base, caudal to the connecting point at the body. Damselflies are also usually smaller, weaker fliers than dragonflies, and their eyes are separated.
Damselflies undergo incomplete metamorphosis, with an aquatic nymphal stage. The female lays eggs in water, sometimes in underwater vegetation, or high in trees in bromeliads and other water-filled cavities. Nymphs are carnivorous, feeding on daphnia, mosquito larvae, and various other small aquatic organisms. The gills of damselfly nymphs are large and external, resembling three fins at the end of the abdomen. After moulting several times, the winged adult emerges and eats flies, mosquitoes, and other small insects. Some of the larger tropical species are known to feed on spiders, hovering near the web and plucking the spider from its nest.

The Tomato frog is any one of the three species of genus Dyscophus (family Microhylidae): D. antongilii, D. insularis, or D. guineti. The tomato frog originally came from Madagascar. The common name comes from the frog's bright red color. When threatened, a tomato frog puffs up its body. If a predator grabs a tomato frog in its mouth, the frog's skin secretes a thick substance that gums up the predator's eyes and mouth, causing the predator to release the frog to free up its eyes. The gummy substance contains a toxin that occasionally causes allergic reactions in humans. The allergic reaction will not kill a human and the frog secretes it only when frightened. The lifespan of the Tomato Frog can be from 6 to 8 years. When adult, the colors may vary from yellowish orange to deep red. Tomato Frogs will reach sexual maturity in 9 - 14 months. Females are larger than males and can reach 4 inches in length. Males can reach 2 to 3 inches in length. Most females range from reddish-orange bright dark red. The bellies are usually more yellowish, and sometimes there are black spots on the throat. But males are not as brightly colored but more of a duller orange or brownish-orange. Juveniles are also dull in color and develop brighter coloration as they mature. They are also on the endangered species list.

Size: Males can be up to 68 mm SVL, 205 mm TL females much smaller, up to 48 mm SVL, Colour & pattern: Males vary from bright turquoise to green, (particularly in the breeding season), however they also are able to change colour to dark brown, beige or pale gray, (hence their local name “chameleon”.) Patterning of the male on close inspection shows pale spotting over the entire animal. Males also have an erectable dorsal crest and a brilliant blue throat-fan. Female colouring ranges from pale gray to tan with a significant white line above the insertion of the foreleg. Females, on close inspection, will show dorsal chevron markings. Juveniles share common colouring and markings with females so that males will allow them within their territories. There can be further confusion since the females and juveniles of this species can resemble the females and juveniles of Anolis sagrei. With closer study, one can detect a difference in head profile since the conspersus has more prominent eye sockets and a somewhat concave area from eyes to nose. In addition there is a pale crescent immediately beneath the eye socket in the conspersus, lacking in the sagrei. These lizards are arboreal, but are often found on the sides of buildings. Tails can be lost and regenerated. Males tend to escape by retreating upwards, while females, juveniles and non-dominant males descend to the ground to hide. :o)

Red-eyed tree frogs, as their name states, have bold red eyes with vertically narrowed pupils, a vibrant green body with yellow and blue striped sides, and orange toes. There is a great deal of regional variation in flank and thigh coloration [1]. Although it has been suggested that A. callidryas' bright colors function as aposematic or sexual signals, neither of these hypotheses have been confirmed [1]. Males range from 2 to 2 1/2 inches, while female range from 2 1/2 to 3 inches on average. Young frogs are typically brown in color and turn greener as they mature, although adult frogs can change their color slightly depending on mood and environment.[2] Red-eyed tree frogs have soft, fragile skin on their belly, and the skin on their back is thicker and rougher.
Their predators include spiders, snakes, bats, and birds. The red-eyed tree frog has three eyelids and sticky pads on its toes. Phyllomedusid tree frogs are arboreal animals, meaning they spend a majority of their life in trees, which also makes them great jumpers and gives it its nickname the "monkey frog".
Red-eyed tree frogs are not poisonous and rely on camouflage to protect themselves. During the day, they remain motionless, cover their blue sides with their back legs, tuck their bright feet under their belly, and shut their red eyes. Thus, they appear almost completely green, and well hidden among the foliage.

The Blue Iguana or Grand Cayman Iguana (Cyclura lewisi) is a critically endangered species of lizard of the genus Cyclura endemic to the island of Grand Cayman. Previously listed as a subspecies of the Cuban Iguana, it was reclassified as a separate species in 2004 because of genetic differences discovered four years earlier. The Blue Iguana is one of the longest-living species of lizard (possibly up to 69 years). The record is 67 years.
The Blue Iguana prefers dwelling in rocky, sunlit, open areas in dry forests or near the shore, as the females must dig holes in the sand to lay eggs in June and July. A possible second clutch is laid in September. The Blue Iguana's vegetarian diet includes plants, fruits, and flowers. Its coloration is tan to gray with a bluish cast that is more pronounced during the breeding season and more so in males. It is large and heavy-bodied with a dorsal crest of short spines running from the base of the neck to the end of the tail.
The fossil record indicates that the Blue Iguana was abundant before European colonization; but fewer than 15 animals remained in the wild by 2003, and this wild population was predicted to become extinct within the first decade of the 21st century. The species' decline is mainly being driven by predation by feral pets (cats and dogs) and indirectly by the destruction of their natural habitat as fruit farms are converted to pasture for cattle grazing. Since 2004, 219 captive-bred animals have been released into a preserve on Grand Cayman run by a partnership headed by the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, in an attempt to save the species. At least five non-profit organizations are working with the government of the Cayman Islands to ensure the survival of the Blue Iguana.

THE LIONFISH IS NATIVE TO THE TROPICAL INDO-PACIFIC REGION OF THE WORLD, BUT VARIOUS SPECIES CAN BE FOUND WORLDWIDE. DUE TO A RECENT INTRODUCTION, THE LIONFISH HAS RECENTLY BEEN SPOTTED IN THE WARMER CORAL REGIONS OF THE EASTERN ATLANTIC OCEAN AND CARIBBEAN SEA. IT HAS BEEN SPECULATED THAT THIS INTRODUCTION MAY WELL HAVE BEEN CAUSED WHEN HURRICANE ANDREW DESTROYED AN AQUARIUM IN SOUTHERN FLORIDA. DNA FROM CAPTURED LIONFISH IN THIS REGION SHOWS THAT THEY ALL ORIGINATED FROM THE SAME SIX OR SEVEN FISH. LIONFISH ARE ONE OF THE MOST VENOMOUS FISH ON THE OCEAN FLOOR. I HAVE ALWAYS ADMIRED THIS BEAUTIFUL FISH AND HAVE OWNED SEVERAL OF THEM OVER THE YEARS. I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY ARE RIGHT HERE OFF DAYTONA BEACH...IF I HADN'T SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES WHILE DIVING OFFSHORE ... I NEVER WOULD HAVE BELIEVED IT. :o)

I found this Tree Frog at work, it is Cuban tree frog, commonly available as pets,
It is also believed that further distribution of the species has been expanded by the release of these pets, I believe do to toxic irritating secretion that is produced from his skin,
I wrote my good friend Mauli about this frog and she gave me few tips how to find it in the garden, during the day are very elusive hiding in trees or plants above ground,
Mauli told me leaving light outside will attract them as they like to hunt for insects.
*Note
Had no idea what type of frog it was till I saw the cups on its toes,
Finding the ID was easy as pie... all I wrote on the search was white tree frog,
Nature is amazing, this plant Is very old about 20 years and hardly bloomed,
for the last 4 years is been blooming exactly the same time,
last year something happened to it and when it bloomed within a week lost all
the flower, and because they hold their blooms close to 45 days,
at least mine does, it messed up their timing, lucky for me:-)
