This beautiful palace in Portugal sports a majestic entrance with a mirror like reflective pond. Avid outdoor photographers will be in heaven not only at the entrance but also at the colorful and well maintained gardens. Mateus Palace (Portuguese: Palácio de Mateus, Solar de Mateus or Casa de Mateus) is located in the civil parish of Mateus, municipality of Vila Real, Portugal. Architect Nicolau Nasoni was involved in the project for the construction of the palace, which took place in the 18th century. My only complaint about this shot is that the day was mostly cloudy. However, the quiet waters of the pond provided a perfect reflection.

For many people this building will be a familiar sight as it features on the wines from the locality, in particular the ubiquitous "Mateus Rose". A relatively small palace but beautifully maintained and cared for with superb gardens and really well worth the visit.
Vila Real (North of Portugal). Here in this farm grow the vineyards which are in the origin of the famous wine «Mateus Rosé».

He was filming almost non-stop throughout the holiday. Still waiting to see the final edited video though!
I took this with my Peleng 8mm Fisheye, and has veen quite heavily cropped. I like how the wide angle lens on his camera looks so huge!

The Church of Santa Luzia is a National Monument. Historically, Santa Luzia was originally built in the 12th century upon the grounds of a former Moorish fortification during the reign of D. Alfonso Henriques. However, the church you see today was the result of rebuilding in the aftermath of the 1755 Lisbon Earthquake by architect Mateus Vicente da Oliveira.
The highlight at this small 12th century church are the traditional azulejos blue and white tiled panels on the exterior side wall.
One of the tiled panels shows the historic scene when his army finally captured St Jorge Castle in 1147.
