Pup and I took one of our usual walks round the rough pastureland just across the road from my home. Suddenly, this Mastiff, or was it a Rhodesian Ridgeback?, appeared, obviously intent on joining us on our walk!
Because he looked just a bit aggressive, and knowing how my little dog would react to that, i.e. join the attack to protect herself, I roared "NO" at the Mastiff, he stopped in his tracks, and his owner strolled over and put him on a lead!!
All dogs are supposed to be on leads on this area of rough pastureland but it's amazing how often dog owners disregard it .. this is, after all, privately owned land with big notices stating that dogs must be kept on leads!
Anyway, all's well that ends well and I did stop the dog in his tracks .. I'm quite proud of my ability to roar! 😂
A few shots from my end-of-life session with Mila, a sweet 13 year old English Mastiff. Sadly, the morning after our session, miss Mila had to be euthanized. We are all grateful that things came together to schedule the shoot when we did.
This is Ralph's final photo for the 52 weeks group for 2010.
We took the challenge which was turning over the reigns. Ralph decided that he wanted to interview the perspective dogs that wanted to take his place.
He really thought long and hard about all of the candidates and in the end decided that only he could take his own place.
Since it is the last photo of the year I will post the other runners up in the comments.
I'm actually happy that Ralph decided to continue the 52 weeks group with me. We have worked hard together all year long and we have more work to do. Ralph is going to be the best dog he can be, whether he wants to or not! ;-P
This represents an early production version of the upgraded vehicle. Later Mastiffs have slat armour all the way around the front of the vehicle, which offers more protection--but is harder to model and would result in a duller-looking slat-armour box...
