Canon EOS 5D II on a tripod. 3 exposures (-2, 0,+2) and then Photomatix, import into photoshop, layering all 3 exposures+ the tone mapped photo. Post-processing in CS5 with Topaz Adjust and Topaz Denoise to get as close to what I saw when I was there. And finishing touches in Lightroom.
"Did you forget the film?" he said to me as I was walking away from a closed cafe the next town over--I was looking down at some part of my new camera. The camera I that I just picked up to be more 'unnoticeable" for street photography compared to the D700. He struck up the conversation about a photographer who shoots his Tae Kwan Do meets who needed a server for thousands of images of a recent local meet in SF. He has a camera himself but it is on the fritz.
He asked not to use his name, so with his three Ph'Ds he asked to go by Master Triple D (entendre stressed, by him)--I offered Dtothethird. He is an active 8th Dan in Taekwondo and volunteers at a couple local fire departments. He was such a knowledgeable and friendly guy.
In our 20 minute conversation, in front of the closed cafe, topics were as varied as wild boar hunting in the NorCal Coast, SF mayor Lee, his recent Taekwando escapades, BMW repairs, his passed brother, a very dedicated graduate photography student and the search for the original photo with taekwando grand masters, among other fun topics.
Of course, I had my 100 strangers opportunity when I was using a fixed 20mm lens…i.e. a very unflatering perspective for portraits. but I did it anyway. So maybe I'll just use the 20mm, since my last 100s submission was also a 20mm, albeit on the m4/3.
OK. So in 2012, I'm going to get to 100! [Slowly, inch by inch, step by step]

This was the master bedroom. I remember there was a television in here, that my sister & I would sometimes watch if everyone else was watching a ball game. It was the first time we had encountered a wireless remote control, and we were playing with it to see if it bounced off walls, or if we could get it to change channels when pointing it through each other. We even joked about giving each other cancer.
Later, when my sister had a case of melanoma, she reprimanded me for using that remote. For those concerned, it has cleared up for her.
