In Waiheke Master Builders, Dash Build was tasked with finding the balance between a classic 1960s summer bach, and a new outdoor entertainment space.
This beautiful home is located right by the water, meaning it was imperative to incorporate this nostalgic original Kiwi aesthetic into the new elements of the design.
We opted for Vitex, a hard-wearing warm ash-grey timber also known as Pacific Teak, to craft an inviting sun-soaked deck that wraps around the home and flawlessly melts into the natural aesthetic of the bach itself and the beach surroundings.
For the pergola, it was important to build a solid roof area, yet also to ensure natural light could reach the deck and house unimpeded. With a combination of intelligent design and a stylish row of skylights, bach occupants enjoy both protection from the elements and optimum sunlight throughout the day.
Dash Build’s involvement created an understated, functional, and perfectly integrated outdoor space for this Kiwi classic.
