Last night was a sleep-deprived, fun, long, exhausting, wonderful night spend out in the beauty of the Yellowknife area chasing stars, aurora, and dreams with good friends Paul Zizka Photography and Robbie Craig's Northern Projects
"The Lights" made a few fickle appearances but it was this capture of Paul earlier in the night that caught my attention. Paul's known around the globe for his night/aurora work and it was fun having the chance to capture him at play.
Final sleep time: 6:15AM.
ISO 1600, f/11, 20-second exposure.

This otter was very successful Saturday morning; it caught at least 6 fish, probably more, while I and others watched.
Sunday we had incredible dinner as we celebrated my Goddaughters and nieces birthday, their Father is a Chef at the Essex by Central park, we had fantastic spread before dinner, the main course was incredible!
The Watermelon radish, also known as Rooseheart or Red Meat, is an heirloom Chinese Daikon radish.
Few other items that you don't see often in a salad, like Japanese black Radish Lollipop kale or goat cheese fritters,
sprinkled with an incredibly tasting dressing.
"Another god damned trainer thinkin' they can get me on their team. Just try to capture me, motherfucker."

Silly, quick photo done this morning because I have this outfit and I HAD to use it for a shot. Didn't bother too much with editing on this one, just done for kicks.

Could it be that we are surrounded
by masters in the form of plants,
animals and minerals, deserving our
deepest gratitude and respect, who
with silent stillness, which we call
meditation, exemplify transcendence
in service to the One beyond attributes
by sacrificing even their presence to
teach, nourish and protect us?

Happy May Day! My first Osprey of the season.
Osprey feed primarily on live fish, which they catch from the water by using their long, hooked talons. An osprey can plunge so forcefully into the water that if will completely submerge! They are a perfect fishing machine with a success rate of around 70%.
This weeks challenge comes at a good time as we are currently mid clear out, making room for an extra desk as our son begins his exam campaign. This is an old view master slide viewer plucked from a forgotten corner. I’ve shot this on my iPad Pro as I stupidly left my MacBook (along with SD card adapters, cables etc) at my works head office and won’t be able to pick it up till Tuesday.
HMM!

I know it doesn't look like I've made much progress for having an entire free day to do it, but it's been a very frustrating build experience. I actually built those segments that loop under the armpits, only to find that I didn't make the loop exaggerated enough, and whenever I rested my arms by my sides, they broke under the pressure. Also, things just started to fall apart in general, such as a the entire bottom of the backpack, and the joints between the front and back of the suit also started cracking, so I had to resort to some extreme measures that I am ashamed of: I used glue, LOTS of glue, and so far it's worked pretty well. But I guess I can't do a good balance of aesthetics and durability. Well, you should DEFINiTELY expect this to be done by tomorrow. I swear.
