"Hello Werner".
"Is it true, Karl, that in the late 1840s you did not allow the German Federation of Atheists to join the Communist Party?"
"Yes, I didn't."
"Why was that?"
"You know, I did not wish religious organisations to become part of our organisation."
"Oh!"

We have a new addition to our little family! 💜 After losing both Hercule and Ralph within ten months of each other, Antonio, Miss Pepper and myself were torn and shattered with grief.
After a particularly dark spell for Antonio back in April, we decided it was time to open our hearts to another puppy. And so we got this little cheeky fella!
Antonio decided to call him Ren Marx, after his two favourite people. The amazing musician Ren Gill (please go check out his music if you haven't heard of him) and Karl Marx.
We love you Marx! 💜

Please ignore the Exif datum. I have, again, forgotten to reprogram my camera. Shot done with Mitakon Speedmaster 35mm at F0.95. One LED lamp, triple exposure. Marx is one of London's most famous citizens. You can find him on Highgate Cemetery.
Your hope - even your 'theory' - was that the socialisation of the means of production would end human misery. Granted, the red elites trying to realise your theory failed, partly because their views of socialisation were incomplete as they themselves (and not society) wanted to control it. Their understanding of 'means of production' was way too narrow and did not give enough space and autonomy to the fields of intellectual thought and religious sentiment. After the catastrophes of the 20th century we are all a bit wiser (hopefully). But could you ever have imagined that "Facebook", the matador of a late capitalist and manipulative culture industry, would sail under the flag of the socialisation of the means of communication? Rotate in your grave, Karl!

Fomapan 400 (expired film - 2020)
8 minute exposure
Rodinal 1:50 @ 11minutes
The mottling on this batch of Fomapan 400, present even when fresh, made me actively avoid shooting it. It just sat around in the film drawer until it finally expired. My ever growing stash of defective and expired film was actually the rationale behind the gifted pinhole.
This was from roll #2. Definitely expected the mottles but the backing paper numbers and dots were a fresh blow. That's what you get with expired film, I suppose. I've had to sit with this image for a week to make peace with it.
Exposure-wise, I couldn't find a reciprocity chart for ISO 400 film, so looked at the ISO 100 chart and guessed. Pinhole photography seems to involve a great deal of making things up as you go along.
Any tips for exposure or developing expired film, greatly appreciated.
'Teatro Karl Marx' in La Habana - Miramar (1949), formerly known as the 'Teatro Blanquita' and 'Charles Chaplin', and renamed after the Cuban Revolution of 1959. The venue has an enormous auditorium, with seating capacity of 5500 people (8000 people in total), and is generally used for big shows by stars from Cuba and abroad. In 2001, the theatre was the scene of a concert by the Welsh rock band Manic Street Preachers, which was attended by President Fidel Castro himself. On being warned by the band that they would be playing very loud, Castro responded, "You cannot be louder than war!". - In the foreground a Chevrolet Bel Air, about 1954, built five years after the theater, just like me ;-)
