This Art Deco building, on the corner of Quai de la Joliette/Boulevard des Dames, facing what was the docks in Marseille, was built as the headquarters of the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique, the precursor of the ferry company Société Nationale Maritime Corse Méditerranée (SNCM).

The building was designed in 1928, and was the headquarters of SNCM until 2013, when the company moved its offices to Rue de Ruffi. This photo was taken in 2013, before work began to turn it into what is described as a mixed real estate program bringing together offices, a 4* tourist residence, and high-end shops.
