After a month-long roadtrip from Guinea-Bissau, via Senegal, Gambia, Mauritania, Western Sahara and southern Morocco, my final full day in Africa in 2019 was in Marrakech. A beautiful place and popular with travellers - I probably saw more travellers and tourists in Marrakech than I did in the rest of my time in Africa.
Little did I know that this would also be my last visit to Africa for some time - Covid-19 cancelled (or I hope simply postponed) planned travel to Ghana, Uganda, Angola and other destinations...
