I had a wonderful day following the tide out at Mewslade Bay, and climbing round the various cliffs and headlands. It was a wonderful day but the sky was a bit hazy, so I decided to do most of the photos in Black and white to emphasise the sky. Marooned is by Wire
Maroon is Queensland's colour and even if it wasn't it's a favourite of mine. From our garden. I hope I haven't posted this before........NO!
It also happens to be the name of our State of Origin Rugby League Team. They play the Blues (NSW).

Birds have a mind of their own when picking their perches. While action shots capture that incredible dynamic, sometimes the best they’ll give us is “bird on a stick.” At least we have a moment to focus on their detail and personality—until they decide to take off!

The Maroon Bells are an increasingly popular destination for visitors. This scenic area features several hiking trails ranging from short hikes near Maroon Lake to longer overnight backpacking trips into the Maroon Wilderness.
Maroon Lake elevation 9,580 ft occupies a basin that was sculpted by Ice-Age glaciers.
We visited this place several days at different hours of the day.

After a successful morning with Super 7s on ZVL, our luck continued as Newark sent a CSSI east with a whopping 4 maroons, and an ex UP motor. The clouds even rolled in when we needed them for an afternoon eastbound. While I would have killed for a solid maroon consist, I can't complain about the variety of power we saw this day, which included zero corporate orange units. A great day to be on the Ohio Central!

Maroon is the second song on midnights. It is my Favourite song on the album!! The song is about a short lived relatioship - possibly the one she shared with Tom Hiddleston in 2016. Taylor describes it starting from when she is in love (flirty and cute) and then when the relationship starts to break down. She thinks back to the relatonship as a grown woman taking away the experience. 🍷🍷
