Saint Marks Basilica is the cathedral church of the Archdiocese of Venice, Northern Italy. Originally it was the chapel of the Doge but has been the city's cathedral since 1807. The cathedral was a symbol of Venetian wealth and power since the 11th century and has often been referred to as the "Church of Gold". The first church was built in 828 on the instructions of the Doge. The church was burned in a rebellion in 976 and then rebuilt in 978. The present Basilica was built in 1073 and consecrated 1093.

This is the wedding of Mark & Kara. The ceremony was held at Sale Kingdom Hall. This was a beautiful spring wedding with the blossom looking its best on the trees. Leading up to the wedding the weather forecast was not the best but it thankfully held off just at the right times! Kara was getting ready at the Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham and was very calm when we first arrived, perhaps it was the giddy bridesmaids that helped ;-) Kara looked every bit the beautiful bride when she had her dress on. When she was ready we left to find Mark at the Kingdom Hall. After the ceremony we went off for some photos at Denzell Gardens in Altrincham and finally back to the Cresta Court, just in time for the meal. We hope they are having a fabulous time sunning themselves on their honeymoon in Mexico. We have enjoyed working as their wedding photographers and we wish them all the happiness. Enjoy looking through their wedding day story and feel free to comment. If you are looking for a Cheshire wedding photographer please feel free to contact us, we would love to hear from you!

Mark Ho is from Amsterdam, Netherlands. He got his early training in film making as a director and script writer. During his second year at the academy he worked on an animation project that required the building of a puppet that was capable of many movements. He designed and built the puppet in metal and learned much about working with the materials. The project also got him started thinking about making the “ultimate puppet” that could duplicate the grace and range of human movement.

I shot my first wedding this weekend. Sure, I've taken photographs at other weddings, but I've never been the actual solo photographer at a wedding before. I probably won't post any more of these on Flickr, but I just love this one.
Notes to future self: Nikon D3 does strange things with file folders while photographing, so if you think half of your photos suddenly dissapeared off the card, it's not true.
