Another gift to a brother on his birthday. It's made of vacuum formed plastic and the base is wood. And yes, it rotates as you drive.

...Getting ready to kick some WiFi butts, the ones I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME, beat on the Wii version! Grr, Wii Karts.

It's pretty cool, though. Big arcade four-person Mario Kart (including Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, and Blinky as playable characters?) where you sit down to play. They have this bit where it takes your picture so when you're playing, the icons above your opponents include their photo so you can tell who's who in a more specific manner. A nice interface enhancement that adds a personal touch to your friends kicking your ass. (Which is to say, I didn't get first place either game. Damn you, Jackson! Damn you, Nicole!)

I saw photos of this Mario Kart arcade version on some Japanese website, but I'd never heard of it being here in Australia. Finally, I found one! It's at Eastland Hoyts, in Ringwood, Victoria, if anyone's interested.

We bought a Wii U, and Mario Kart 8, on the weekend. Pretty wow.

NOTE: We're taking pictures of the LCD monitor from a digital camera, which is why the picture angle is a little weird and it may seem bright in some portions of the video. The actual video output on the HDBOXPRO looks great, without any viewing angle/brightness problems.
